I too remember being disappointed by the old SC BD and its 5.1 track, which didn't have any surround activity. But I clearly remember the Paramount DVD having a pretty good 5.1 track with, often, quite effective surround activity. There were especially some good atmospheric effects outdoors in the city, with the noise and sounds of the machines.
