Holy moly, I did not expect this transfer to look so incredible. Who knew Coming to America would make for one or the most beautiful transfers on the format? I’m stunned.

Yup, it looks great. Planned to check just a few scenes, but ended-up watching the whole movie. This has a lovely filmic texture, rich colors, and an obvious increase in picture detail over the original BD. I also skimmed through BEVERLY HILLS COP, and Paramount has delivered an impressive one-two punch with these releases.

The COMING TO AMERICA steelbook comes with a mini-poster for the 1988 World Tour of Randy Watson and Sexual Chocolate. This gets my vote for best bonus tat of all time.

Got mine yesterday but considering that it came the same day as Hobbit/LotR and Dawn of the Dead, it might be weeks until I actually get around to watching it. One of the things about being a parent is that we can't typically start watching movies until our son is in bed (somehow he is both a night owl and an early bird ) and last night we made it a whole hour into An Unexpected Journey before conking out. I think the only way we'll get to this before xmas is if we use it as a buffer between the middle earth trilogies.

What a shame then that Trading Places didn't get the same love since truth be told it's actually my favorite of those three.
