I have all the same versions plus the DVD boxset.
It is crazy to think about how much home video has improved! I used to be blown away by the DVD!
I wonder if the dvd without the green tint was the most accurate to the way it looked originally though.

Price went up to $34.99 on Best Buy. It's going the wrong way.

I'm still itching to watch it several hours later but I don't wanna spin the Blu, I just gots to wait!
That's what scares me about buying this one. That the sequels might only be available in a trilogy set or something, later on.

I will likely pick this up as soon as it's on sale for $15-17 with Target Cartwheel or something. Gotta vote with your wallet and $31.99 is not going to be the new standard. Not for me.

OMG that bluray is ****ing hideous. What a disaster. Thank GOD the UHD looks good. It's pretty obvious they just threw this ***** on bluray without a second thought after doing the UHD. Dear lord.

I gotta say they did the 4K disc right, as I was expecting. But this is new to me. This bluray is truly ****ing awful and worse than the green bluray. I literally cannot stand the way it looks. It's just gross.

But damn does this film seem to look good now on 4K. Amazing UHD. Horrible bluray. Whoever did this bluray literally needs to be fired from their job. Whoever you are ya suck at your job.

That is straight up embarrassing work if you ask me. Probably the shits who were just like throw what you have on SD and call it a day lol.

Oh jesus. They will eventually come to 4K lol. Not that I care much. I might give them another chance on 4K though. At any rate the trilogy for Batman has no slipcovers, so you might as well just get this now.

It's not listed on Walmart.com at all for me, Best Buy is 35$, and doesn't have it within 250 miles, and Target doesn't have it available to purchase and pick up in any local stores either.

There is no Matrix 4K disc; only my desire to purchase it.

I’m so pissed this isn’t available anywhere. Was really looking forward to watching this. Ugh. They need to sort out this 4K demand stuff. How do they still not get it?

Frys has it at $29.99, possibly cheaper if they have a promo code.

Just another reminder for people to select the Atmos track when you start to watch the movie. I had read multiple times that the default track was lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 and yet, like a giant idiot, I sat there for the first ten minutes going "Ya, know. This sounds a bit s***" before my mistake dawned on me. Duh.

Also, on my Sony X800, if you stop the disc for any reason and then use the handy resume function, it reverts back to.....the Dolby Digital 5.1 track again. This disc apparently reeeally wants you to watch the movie using that lossy audio track.

I never new that this movie was a Horror film!

Targets product description lists its genre as "Horror"; perhaps that's why it's not being stocked in stores anywhere near me as of yet?

Highest grossing horror movie of all time

Now I want to see horror snobs arguing over whether The Matrix is a "real" horror movie.

Maybe lossy 5.1 is Bill Pope's intended way of watching this movie?

Perhaps the dude simply doesn't dig the thought of people watching his nice 'non-revisionist' colors paired with revisionist atmos mix?

Christopher Nolan is obviously waterboarding everyone into submission. "Atmos is for the weak!!"

2018 UHD Blu-ray:

That eases my pains. It is fascinating how different the new Blu and the UHD are graded. The UHD takes the green from the old Blu Ray and refines it (it is less of a blanket green like through a green window). And most importantly leaves the skintones natural and not sick looking.

While the new Blu looks like a compromise for those who loved how the DVD looked. A more realistic look with a lot of blues added and the greys being more intact. And just some subtle shade of green mixed in.

So everybody can be happy with the new discs? The (supposedly) theatrical green is much more refined on the UHD. And those who grew up with the DVD have a more natural look with just a hint of green added.

Thanks for the shots BTW Nice work. If you could add another set of shots it would be highly appreciated.

The "METACORTEX" building would be a nice shot for another comparison:

OLD BD

NEW BD

I speculate, that this shot would be greener on the UHD in comparison to the new BD. But a less saturated green than the old BD.
