Just bought this and I must say the 4K version is crap (picture wise) and the Bluray is worse, not much better than the DVD. Very disappointed....

Ha, this is possibly my favorite UHD. I don’t necessarily think it’s a demo disc but I love how it looks and smokes any DVD or Blu-ray I’ve seen.

Patriot Games is my favorite Jack Ryan film. I grew up watching it on my Pops' laserdisc along with Red October and CAPD. I never bought the initial DVD but did grab the DTS disc on sale at Circuit City for 5 bucks in 2004. I watched it a handful of times on that and the standard Blu from the dirt cheap Ryan Blu-ray set. I finally broke open my 4K set and just finished this UHD. It is stunning! The Ryan house raid at the end displays tremendous strength with the Dolby Vision enhancement. Darks are appropriately dark without crushing detail and the blinding lightning strikes and the moment of Night Vision accentuated with flipping the power on are very bright. Color while on the muted side is likewise very balanced and the fine, to thick layer of grain gives it a very filmic approach. Fantastic disc all around!
