trying living back in the 90's when you had a 6 month rental window to live through as well lol

the day and date rental / retail releases were like small miracles

What about 'priced to rent' vs. 'priced to buy'? I remember my jaw dropping when being told that certain VHSs were in the $90 range.

I was just having this conversation with my better half yesterday lol. We’ve really come a long way, I’m incredibly glad of what we have now.

Lincoln outgrossed Ready Player One domestically...no surprise though that Ready Player One did far better overseas than Lincoln (as in five times better than Lincoln).

I've got a few ex-rentals in my collection complete with original stickers

Predator rental copy - suggested RRP was £74.95 back in 1988.

bagged that for a fiver on ebay lol

That's still kinda surprising domestically, as "blockbuster" Spielberg almost always outpreforms "award-bait" Spielberg.

Could've done way better if it had a halfway decent marketing campaign.

I think it had a similar problem to Ender's Game. It felt like a speed run through a cliff notes version of the story.

I still enjoyed it, but having read the book relatively recently, it was obvious just how much was left out.

However, in my opinion, both movies weren't the type to benefit from a 3+ hour version, or to be split into two parts.

Having said that, it could of course be the cover that will be chosen for the US release.

Same cover but the US one will have “Digital HD” written on it instead of “Digital Download”

We still don't know if the 4K Blu-ray will feature Dolby Vision, right?

While they've been spotty on catalog titles it looks like Warner is doing it for first run films. I can't imagine Spielberg not wanting it, he spoke highly of the theatrical DV grade.

Looking at the cover picture (even if it is small), I think it is written Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision on the bottom of the HDR sticker.
