It's still cheap but on back order. I can wait at just over $22 with taxes.

I tried. Guess for once we get lower prices than you guys. The week is young, maybe it'll show up for that price on Amazon.com? |

I jumped on the Amazon.ca deal as well. I own the first series on 4K, but I have to admit I only watched the first episode, and it didn’t do anything for me. I’m hoping to get into it after I finish Game Of Thrones.

Is there an unboxing video for those triple stacked discs? I'd like to take a look.

I see there's a lot of unhappiness regarding the UK release which is 4K only, but was initially marketed as 4K + Standard Blu Ray. I'm not too bothered about the dropping of the HD blu-rays, but not being clear over what each contains is a massive own goal. Lots of 1-star reviews on Amazon, which in this case is understandable IMO. If I'd bought this set with an HD only setup to future proof, as the 4K set is only £10 more than the standard blu-ray, I'd be incredibly frustrated.

Like the UK, Amazon AU stated both 4K & 1080p copies. Strangely, it was still stating S3 4K had both 2160p and 1080p versions recently, despite the set only having a UHD copy. No BD released with catalogue titles is common in Australia: Total Recall, Beverley Hills Cop, Coming to America and Collateral are out next week on UHD in Australia. Only Total Recall comes with a BD copy of the film. Admittedly, Total Recall has a new 1080p transfer, but the others don’t (US released a 1080p of BHC earlier this year that should come with the 4K release). I think at the very least, if there is a new 1080p transfer, have an accompanying BD with the UHD. Although I feel that the practice should always be to have a BD copy, especially for the extras. |
