Speculation: I notice that "Riddick" (unrated DC) blu is unavailable on Amazon except for the marketplace (though "Chronicles" is there). Bestbuy is out of both. (Not counting the "collection" versions.)

Pitch Black is definitely my favorite of the 3, but I would own the other two on 4K if the other 2 are $20US or less (and are the unrated versions). Here's hoping that's the explanation for low stock.

I have their order page saved as a favorite and am ready to jump on it when the link goes live, if Amazon doesn't end up matching it. Thanks!

Ebay should have tons of them because, those blu-rays have been out for years. If you don't mind buying used movies, you might want to take a look.

Chronicles is a fantastic flick, Riddick felt like more of the same (but I still love the character
I do have a thing for the first one too, though.

I’ll buy regardless to support and encourage more 4K releases from boutique labels but will this be a limited edition box set?

I'd say it's a film you can go into...pitch black.

I've never been a fan of Vin Diesel but on occasion I like some of his films for what they are. I did catch this in theaters and was truly impressed with it and over the years I revisit it and it does take me back and I realize it truly is a fun movie that I actually don't tire of and rewatch often. I also LOVE The Chronicles of Riddick for it being a balls to the walls go for broke Sci Fi film that comes at you from every direction.

Worth a blind buy?

I say 100% yes.

How different are the directors cuts compared to the theatrical for the whole trilogy?

From memory, Pitch Black just has a few short additions/alterations but Chronicles adds something like 15 minutes back into the film and makes it feel even more epic.

It's nice that it's getting a UHD, but I'll wait for the reviews before I buy it.
