Odd, sounded a bit off to me. Will need to see it again to verify though.

Still definitely picking it up in 4K when its out.

The wife liked this as well. Her highlight was crass Linda Hamilton. She also liked Mackenzie Davis and her character.

She thought Dani was the weak link and didn't care for the portrayal by the actress.

She said the plot and references were easy to follow for someone that has seen the others, but not invested in them.

That's pretty much what I think they were going for, it wasn't just made for the die-hard fans.

I watched T2 immediately before seeing Dark Fate and I'm fairly confident they were the same take. It would be strange if they used an alternate take for that.

And although I didn't want to watch either T1 or T2 beforehand I've seen T2 more times than I can count which is why it didn't sound off to me at all, aside from it being selectively edited to condense it a bit. Gave me chills.

It was a very good use of archival footage...

But this is a sequel to T1 & T2 written and produced by James Cameron so the bar was high, and the delivery way below.
Some self awareness at last. You're right, you/they don't want to "discuss the entertainment", you just want to nitpick it to death according to your head canon and/or the notion that it would somehow match up to Cameron's movies. I made my peace with that latter aspect a long time ago and the former I never bothered with, and despite Cameron's actual involvement with it this time there's no recapturing that lightning again - Cameron was fortunate enough to get it bottled a second time with T2. You're SO determined to hate DF that it being a very decent action flick is getting lost in all the self-serving noise.

I really enjoyed it. Yes, the series seems to have a less potential than we initially thought it did, but I'm happy with what we got here. It bums me out horribly that we're likely not going to get a follow-up to this movie because I liked what it set out to do.

How is it a decent action flick when they show constant cartoony nonesense? This is an ugly hideous CG movie.

Eh, Titanic is full of nonsense. The melodrama in the first half is rather abysmal and the writing is quite terrible. Iceberg onwards, however, it’s a pretty masterful action flick.

I’d say it’s a decent action flick in the sense that the production value was there, the cast was there, the effects were well-done, it was fast-paced and entertaining but IMO the story is where it fails. I actually seriously dislike a few of the major plot points and thought a lot of the writing was super lazy. But overall it’s pretty decent I’d say. It was (more or less) what I thought it was gonna be.

I've seen T2 20 or 30 times too. I watched the 4K blu-ray just a few days before watching Dark Fate in the theater, and it sounded off to me.

I could be totally off or it could have just been the theater audio, regular theater, rather than the Dolby Atmos specific one.

In any case, the inclusion of the scene is appreciated either way.

You're not wrong. The writing and direction were poorly conceived in many ways.

And at present Cameron seems to be distancing himself from DF now that it's considered a bonefide turkey - it's not my fault, it was someone else's doing!!

However, we have Cameron to thank for the beginning of the film and only him to blame for pawning yet another beloved franchise off on nitwits and creating a dud with Alita as a bonus because he's so obsessed with big, blue cat-smurfs from space.

Rewatched T2 saturaday night. The scene seemed in tact to me.

It's off because the opening of Dark Fate omitted Sarah saying "Silberman". That's why it's off. Everything else is the same.
