Snyder usually is up to standard in terms of action, but in some scenes he was off his game here. |

The version in the theatrical cut is much shorter and doesn't produce the same effect. So, it's essentially a different moment, so to speak.

I only skimmed some of them, but they're pretty surfacial/EPK-type stuff. Similar to what we got on BvS (didn't watch the SS bonus features). MoS bonus features were awesome though, and in terms of quantity there was a lot, especially if you got the Target and Walmart-exclusive discs.

WB wasn't happy with the rough cut, not Zack.

No the scenes Whedon shot were not what Snyder was planning to shoot. He had no hand in anything past January/February of 2017.

Heh. I still think that if the stars align one day then we'll get another cut of JL, but I never put any credence into the fanboy bullshit that insisted it was being worked upon now. Sure, Snyder's been putting out what people think are teases on social media but it's more him explaining how x moment would've worked in his cut of the film, not some sort of tacit admission that it's actually happening.

Snyder's spokeswoman says he won't discuss a director's cut and people who have worked on the film have confirmed there was only a rough cut and Snyder oversaw the new scenes. I'm not sure why what they say shouldn't be considered or trusted. Seems to me Snyder has no interest in releasing another cut of the film.

Take the WSJ article with a grain of salt. No, in fact take it as it is, nothing more than a hit-piece against a movement within the DC fanbase based entirely disinformation.
I find it incredibly curious why the WSJ writer would cite an unnamed source "who worked on the film" about the Snyder Cut, in which all they offered was the same PR-spin that was used after Whedon took on the project. Yet, he does not included the interview he took with Jay Oliva, who for a fact did work extensively on the film and knows a Snyder Cut exists. No one within the fanbase believes, or believed, that WB would release the Snyder Cut so soon, whether it's complete or not. Sure, there was hope, but that was it. This isn't going to stop them from asking for it. |
