It doesn't really seem like it's in stock much of anywhere at this point, I don't really get what happened with the release of this one.

Amazon has it right now though.

I start the disc and just for the heck of it I check out the audio options. And lo & behold, I find that not only is there a lossy Dolby Digital track, but that it is also selected as the default audio track. Having a seperate lossy track is stupid enough, but nothing can excuse the utter stupidity of Warner, to make the lossy track as the default. I suppose Warner loves promoting remuxing of their BDs. First with all the 3D BDs without ATMOS and now this stupidity with their UHDs.

Mine is on the way.

I vividly remember sitting in a cinema hall, mesmerized by the story and action sequences. The year was 1999.

The previous bluray release was so underwhelming, I really can't wait to watch this in beautiful 4K.

Is this similar to the Nebuchadnezzar funky highlights? It is also visible in the water and likely other similar highlights in the image. An artifact of the 100nits conversion or am I simply seeing things.

It looks like color artifacting, when pushing levels into clipping.
Also appears to be some loss in detail in the rivulets of waterfall in that given cap of the 4k encode, but that could be just that given frame.

I think I've noticed a flaw in the audio track.
Just before the interrogation scene and just after Neo gave up on the "escaping by the roof" plan, the score seems to have a pitch issue.
If you pay close attention to the violin, it sounds down pitched compared to the previous release then it goes back to normal after a few seconds. Weird.

I caught the weird split-second cyan thing between Morpheus and Cypher, and Neo's sleeve looking a little blown out at the end of the dojo fight. I'll also admit that had I not already read about them here, I might not have even noticed. The transfer was otherwise flawless to my eyes. I'm stunned.

Also, I understand the frustration about Atmos not being the default track (it took me til Neo meets Trinity in the nightclub to notice something was wrong), but honestly this is what Disney should be doing. Offer both mixes, make the crappy one the default because that's apparently what the vast majority of people want, and include the non-FUBAR'd mix as a selectable option for those who actually give a damn.

Yeah, I had to get mine from the back at Best Buy. The slip has a crease, so I will be taking it back and maybe just refunding it because these were sealed with slipcover. 34.99 is way too much for one 4K UHD I cannot currently use and a totally shit bluray.
