So on a shoot, you should forbid the DoP to put the shutter speed at anything else other than 1/48 if you shoot digital.

This was done on Rambo Last Blood (raising the shutter too high), on the opening scene, and I noticed there are shots in the tunnel during the climax, that also look like video. Also the opening scene of Logan, which I didn't buy on Blu-ray because I can't stand beginning to watch the film, and watching a great scene ruined and looking like I'm watching in fast forward from the get go.

I noticed the jaggies too, I think this film will look poor on any format.

Still not "48fps" though, is it?

For motion pictures the 'shutter speed' is generally referred to as 'shutter angle' and is notated in degrees rather than x fractions of time. 180 or 172 degree shutters are the standard for the 'film look' type of cadence (172 being used if they need to get rid of strobing from 50Hz light sources).

Went ahead and pre-ordered the German release. I'll probably end up getting the US one as well and just throwing the German disc inside to have my own Theatrical/Director's Cut edition.

"Last Blood" is Universum though and English subs aren't a given with them. And there actually don't seem to be any: https://www.universumfilm.de/filme/153678.html

Ah yes but maybe someone can point out a French retailer listing a 4K version for preorder because Amazon France only have listings for Blu-ray and DVD and the 4K listing on this site doesn’t take you to an active preorder unlike the blu ray version.

An eight degree difference in the shutter angle isn't going to suddenly make it look like video, as I said they do it to time out strobing on certain lighting sources. But it's the WIDER the shutter angle then the more it looks like video, e.g. 270 degrees or even 360 which exposes each frame for longer and makes motion look more smeary and video-like, whereas a narrower shutter angle reduces the exposure time and gives motion a more stuttery, staccato feel, like the action sequences in Saving Private Ryan which were done at 45 degrees.
