Default "...was purely and simply... evil."

As I posted over the Nights of Halloween thread, I was aged 16 and a sophomore in 1978, the year Halloween was released, I have very vivid memories of seeing this film with a group of friends, guys and girls, some from high school, some from the neighborhood. We had a blast. More than a film, and a very well directed one at that, a rite of passage.

Just like a few other events from '78 where I have vivid memories, such as Blue Oyster Cult (whose classic Don't Fear The Reaper is featured in the film) with Rush at the then Nassau Coliseum, on Friday the 13th, no less.

Back to the disc, it's great. Mono? I couldn't care less.

Yeah....without the MONO isn't this like a Rob Zombie approved 1978 Halloween 4K 7.1 edition

Halloween and even 4 and 5 are meant to be on MONO with HIGH volume. but 7 speakers? Nah, nope, no sir these are classics. Mono only here kids.

I'm not even going to get into the whole...horror films are best on the big screen/projectors opinion I share as well

The 7.1 mix on this is fine for a retrofitted, low budget vintage film.

If you aren't too precious about replication of the precise editing of the original track.

Nassau Coliseum!?!?

I lived not too far from there, in the Long Beach area, and went there COUNTLESS times for concerts, wrestling matches (WWF) and more -- I attended Hofstra University down the street, and always ate at Borelli's Italian Restaurant across Hempstead Turnpike there...

Can't tell ya how many Islanders games I saw there, too...

Bringing back memories. And, yes, that Blue Oyster Cult track is a killer (a little pun intended); I have their On Flame with Rock and Roll CD which contains that track along with "Burnin' For You."

I think he was "correcting" the member above him who posted "could care less" about the mono audio (claiming it should have been "COULDN'T care less)...

True but given the amount of times in this thread he’s strongly opposed peoples issues on the topic he certainly comes off as someone who certainly feels his opinion of some high rank.

This is so baffling. Over on the uk Halloween thread someone posted that the blu in the uk 4k combo pack is the 35th anniversary, why the US version is the ancient 2007 is so strange.

I agree, as evidenced by my response to his "cancer" statement. I was just pointing out what he was most likely doing in this particular instance.

Never, ever had an issue with mono playing back thru front left and right. Of course there will be a phase shift if people are sitting off axis, but I'm not people so I sit dead centre. 60% of the time it works every time

60-percent isn't accurate enough for appropriate playback; it should ideally be delivered (whether 1.0 mono or 2.0 mono) via the center channel.
