![]() And in all honesty it helped with the flow of the film. Trip's story helped make the film what it is. Yes they did a live show in the real world, but at the end of the day it is what it is a Film that anyone who has a metal heart can enjoy. Personally I thought the same of Pink Floyeds The Wall, its unterlly pointless. just an album with music video.... not entertaining. And before I get jumped, I do like some of the songs from pink floyd... RI Last edited by RIKANA; 01-29-2014 at 09:24 PM. |

But I should point out the PF's The Wall is a individual album with a clear narrative running through it, Metallica's "Through The Never" is basically a story shoehorned into their live set of existing songs spanning their career to make this movie more than just a simple concert document. Also, The Wall (the movie) is not a live concert, it's a story with music supporting the plot - basically a musical like The Who's "Tommy" or "All That Jazz." Two very different approaches by two very different rock bands. |

Ok... I get what your saying. Sorry but I bleave that INTERSTELLER 5555 was far better then PF's The Wall. How ever I'm not sure what story your talking about for The Wall, When I watched it is seamed like music video running together, no naritave at all. I'm not trying to make you mad, but I never saw the story. Also you can't comepare Never to a Documentary [i'm not sure how thats even possable] film, as it is cleary a film. the stupid kiddy GLEE, 1D, Beaver, HM and Mily, ect. are more Documentery then Never is. It's identical to how it was shown through the various web outlets. I don't remember if it has chapters, but it's all spliced together.

That's what I was hoping for. I was afraid that they'd make us watch each part individually instead of editing them together to form one complete film.

Just finished and it is a great disc for sure. I don't regret my purchase. 3d is definitely the way to go with this one as it literally feels like it opens a window right into the arena a lot of the time. 2d would not give the full experience.
Audio, recording and mix wise is overall excellent IMO. Solid low end as far as the bass drum goes which is crucial for me and I was really happy about this. Bass guitar might have been slightly low in the mix, but it's not an issue overall. guitars and vocals are mixed perfectly to my ears and the effects sound incredible with some solid low end which was a nice bonus! The intro to "One" is incredible with potent low end and amazing surround work going on. It is obvious that a lot of time, effort and work went into the recording, mix and whatever else they did to it in the studio to spruce it up and make it sound so clean and present. This is my kind of live concert recording right off the board with the music clearly the focus and not trying to put you in the crowd which I cant stand. My only gripe really is that there is no concert only option. The plot part which thankfully only takes up a small percentage of the overall film was fine and I had no issue with it, but it would be great to be able to just watch the show without it. They should have included this for the $$$ of this disc especially. I would still buy it again as is, but this would have really made it a home run. Have not watched the extras. Overall, this was a good purchase with incredible audio/video and solid 3d. |

Watch the Master of Puppets vid on Youtube from Through the Never which will give you a good idea of what to expect. There are some cuts to the movie at times within the songs, but they are generally non intrusive and minimal. The concert footage is what takes up most the run time thankfully. There are a few parts when the movie cuts in that do diminish the concert footage though which is why a concert only option would have been great. Oh well. The overall experience is amazing though and watching on my 9' wide screen, it felt as close to being at a real show as I have ever experienced in my HT.....by far. Most of the time during the concert footage, it feels as if your screen is a window right into the arena (with the 3d version. You don't get near the same effect in 2d which I sampled) and combined with the crystal clear squeaky clean board sound, it is completely captivating!
