Going to pick this up at Target later in the week for what boils down to basically $20. I missed a few movies in the theater earlier this year that I can't wait any longer to watch.

something I've always wondered when I see this question over and over again....
Anyone in general, I like to see/hear different opinions regarding certain films.

There's 13 pages (in this thread) of people talking about the movie.
Check the "Movies" section, and I'm sure there's even MORE talk about the movie. Lots of different opinions!

Usually, though, if you hang out/view a thread about a movie title, it's going to be predominantly people that LIKED THE movie. Simply because, well, why would people spend lots of time looking at threads for movies they don't like?
So these sections will be biased.

I like to go into most movies blind. Read the reviews and check the Tomatoes score after. I don't want to build something up in my head because I see it has a 98% and then be let down, or vise-versa.

You’d be surprise. There are a couple out here.

Just check out The Florida Project main movie thread to see what I’m talking about.

Haha.
I am one of those "weirdos". I like reading why people do/don't like stuff.
Also, I wonder how good or bad the 4k UHD situation is based on an overall assessment of title releases... so I spend a lot of time looking at active 4k UHD threads on movies I don't like.
It's pretty obvious that I don't like "The Patriot", but I also don't like Gladiator, The Matrix, or Saving Private Ryan (except the opening battle), but I have watched the 4k presentations, and I love reading about peoples' opinions on the discs themselves. I try to kind of keep my personal taste of those movies more on the down-low, though.

Great info thanks. Think this has swayed me towards the UHD. I was a coin flip away from either format as it seemed the difference would be negligible and to me, might not be worth the extra 70% cost. But it sounds like the UHD adds to the atmosphere of the film with what you’ve said. That’s what I’m looking for with this format, not to buy anything and everything if the film itself isn’t designed to be visually stunning.

There have been some great making of articles on this movie lately.
The Verge ran one today I think.

It shows how the lack of any real special features is almost criminal on this release.

In the old Blu-Ray days, it usually meant a special edition was coming but I don't think you can go by that logic anymore.

Still disappointed that Best Buy, once again, dropped the ball on a Steelbook for the 4k disc on this.

Was also excited to watch it tonight, since it was out to be delivered this morning.....but now UPS is saying there is a delay due to "operating conditions".

Not sure what that means, exactly. In the crappier parts of winter, yeah, a possible delay is not unheard of here. But, it's Sunny and 90 degrees out today. So maybe mechanical issues with the driver's truck?

Are special features going to stop you from purchasing movies like this one? Not trying to be a troll, I'm genuinely curious. Special features are always cool, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't affect the purchase, for me.

holeee crap. The audio on this track is INSANE. the LFE goes into the single digits. That "whomp" right when the girl drove off the beast and switching over to emily blunt. it drove my SVS PB10 in the bedroom to full on port chuffling. and I have that thing calibrated to perfection. it made my twin 18s in the front of the house just HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURT in every way.

I've never run across a movie before that made my bedroom system have to be turned down 8 db AND reduce the trim on my subs just to reduce the port chuffing at sub 17 hz material. My main system handled it like the boss it is, but holy cow, it made those 18s REALLY work for their dinner, and 90% of it was sub 15hz material, I'm sure of it.

My 4K copy won't be delivered till tomorrow, was supposed to have been delivered today. Question since it won't be delivered till tomorrow should I contact BBY and see if I can get the price some lowered since I paid for release day delivery?

What a bummer that Bestbuy is not coming out with the 4K steelbook. I want 4K and the steelbook, so now debating if I should get both.
