I wonder if the audience were actual Metallica fans or planted actors...I think they were actors personally but were into the whole concert once filming began.

Watch the special features, they were fans. They sold out 8 shows in Mexico City for the same venue (which has never been done before).

I loved this "movie". Absolutely awesome concert footage.

Watched this again last night and it was still great, but no concert only option for me is going to hurt future replay value. The story parts are totally forgettable and at this point I feel they actually detract from the otherwise amazing concert footage. We are not talking The Wall here as there is virtually no depth to the "story" and feels a bit cheesy and pointless upon re-watch. I might sell this to fund other purchases.....

Oh, one other complaint is not showing Hammett enough during his blistering guitar work.......I don't want to see everyone else BUT Hammett during these moments!

Meh, I've got three other Metallica concert Blu's. If I just want a concert, I'll watch one of those. I love the uniqueness of this film.

Those other concert films don't have the production values of this one though which is why an option for the concert only is a huge misstep on this release IMO. I enjoyed the uniqueness for a watch or two as well, but I'm over the "story" aspect which really adds nothing for repeat viewings IMO.

They were actual fans. Iirc tickets for the 5 shows filmed for this film were only 5$ a piece. I wish they had filmed here in Ottawa instead of Edmonton and Vancouver.

Default Metallica Through The Never

Does anyone know if the 3D Version has the 2D on the other side (included)?

Just got done watching the 3d. Almost blew my doors off!! It was a great experience. My only gripe is no slipcover. Going to have to get some double sided tape to put the lenticular cover on the case. The movie rocks though

No. There is no 2D offered with the standard 3D version. There's a 2D disc in the deluxe set.

Somebody mentioned earlier in the thread that the lenticular cover fits nicely in between the cover and the plastic, so no double-sided tape required.

Yes, that's how I have mine.

I'm watching this right now. I'm glad I decided to get the 3D version of this. I'm really enjoying this so far and the 3D looks incredible!

I'm watching the 3D version later tonight (after the Super Bowl). Looking forward to it.

Well the movie itself never really says, but amongs fans there are two theories:
  • A: It contains Cliff Burton's soul.
  • B. It's Cliff's tour bag that the band keeps with them in his memory.
Obviously they're just fan theories, but I like to believe it's option B, though both options would be great explanations.

Totally agreed, I think the plot is
[Show spoiler]...meh... imho and rewatch again only the concert is annoying since some of those songs are not complete... but as they would already have the material and it's not so hard to just edit it and release as the full concert version, so still there's some possibility... I mean in the future or next couple of years ? That'd be like freakin' awesome for me (us), still hoping tho

it dosent seems to work with my deluxe set. the lenticular is too big to fit in so I just let it sit in my deluxe box.
