Not saying it's a total piece of garbage like that, but why spend a ton of money to turn something into something it's not that's not any better?
You're not going to get Snyder's original cut. You'll more than likely get an extended cut of this film.

Snyder's original cut...in terms of what he and Terrio intended, was probably never finished. If indeed we do get an extended cut of this, it'll just be more of what Snyder shot but not what he originally planned.

If we get an extended cut for this, it’ll be like Suicide Squad. It won’t be a hugely different version of the film; it’ll just be a few deleted scenes sprinkled in here and there that don’t really change the film at all. Having a hugely different cut of the film on Home video would confirm the narrative that WB greatly altered Snyder’s vision when they’ve been pushing the narrative that the released film IS Snyder’s vision. Just as Suicide Squad didn’t have a hugely different cut to avoid confirming the narrative that WB had recut Ayer’s film, Justice League will be the same. It will probably be called “the director’s cut” and will be just a slightly longer version of the theatrical cut just to help WB’s narrative.

After the critical failure of the film and it currently being on track to be a commercial failure as well (the film is currently on track for a sub $110M Opening Weekend at the US Box Office which will be an embarrassment for WB) all the blame is going to be heaped in Snyder.

In the coming weeks, the narrative that Snyder left WB with a mess of a film that they and Whedon had to try and salvage will be everywhere. It might even be true, but that’s beside the point. WB will accept no responsibility for this misfire.

As for the DCEU going forwards; Snyder is out 100% and will not return. His attachment is poison at this point (if JL does get a sub $110M OW, his career as a big budget blockbuster director is likely over). Affleck will likely be out as well.

Batman Begins 8/10
The Dark Knight 10/10
The Dark Knight Rises 7/10
Man of Steel 9/10
Batman v Superman 6/10
Batman v Superman UE 10/10
Suicide Squad 4/10
Wonder Woman 7/10
Justice League 2/10 a genuinely uncomfortable film experience for me. I don't think I've ever hated any superhero movie until today. Like those Schumacher Batman movies from the 90s are still kinda funny in a so bad it's good way.

I sadly agree, because I'd love to see Snyder's cut of the movie. Shame on WB; they meddled with the movie and wound up creating a mess.

How does the atrocity that was BvS go from a 6 (which is generous imo) to a 10 - the same as The Dark Knight??

I would have to agree with him. I enjoyed the BvS extended cut more than I ever enjoyed Dark Knight.

It boggles my mind that Caville's physical appearance for Superman in the first Justice League film had to take a backseat to a supporting bit in Mission Impossible 6. I don't know how WB let that happen.

This issue alone makes the film subpar for me, because it's the figurative representation of the overall patchy nature of the film's composition. I'll never be able to get as excited for it whenever I watch it again as I do for repeat viewings of MoS and BvS. The movie is fun but amateurish overall due to issues such as Cavill's digitally removed mustache. I don't know know why WB simply didn't delay the film's release so that Cavill could wrap up shooting MI6 and shave off his mustache. Very, very unprofessional and embarrassing on WB's part.

The moustache wasn’t that noticeable, except for the
[Show spoiler] opening scene where it’s kind of ok to pass on because it’s shoddy footage from a phone camera
. As for the CGI in general, apart from a few moments and the general weight of Steppenwolf, it was only “bad” if you were looking for it and not engaging with the film. It’s like Ragnarok’s Cg, it’s only “bad” if you are looking for it to be. But maybe the way IMAX screened the film cleaned it up for my showing. I doubt it though.

VFX looked fine in Dolby as well, mustache aside.

Affleck has been out for months ( though not publicized due to the release of Justice League). Jake Gyllenhaal 's name has been bandied about for the Matt Reeves films but nothing in stone.
