I would pick one up for you, but our local Best Buy will not have the steelbook, just the regular packaging.

The double feature should arrive later this week from Best Buy.

Even though it's only the 4k editions similar to the Wick triple feature I'm fine with that. Also, even more so considering I hardly ever watch BDs for recent purchases in 4k.

I missed both in theaters, and even passed on the first reboot once I heard about the second part coming out at a later date.

The TV miniseries was one of the scariest movies that I watched growing up as I still have memories of seeing it at such a young age.

i didn't find her bland at all in Arrival, because the character supposed to be subtle and keep everything to herself... but i kinda agree with MOS...

Everyone is discussing the movie itself.

PQ impressions anyone?

Despite not liking the film nearly as much as the first one, I picked up the 4K steel today.

The PQ has denser black levels, more dialed up contrast and color compared to the first movie, so I think a lot of people will find it more appealing than the first film's disc on a superficial level. However, I preferred the photography style from the first film much more. Had a more 'distinct' look to it.

But yeah, the compression on this disc is terrific. There's plenty more dialed up brightness for the HDR to flex its muscles here, for people into that stuff. And the overall image just looks more like a modern production than a singular one.

I know it was hopeful, but I really wanted that 4K set to come down even $5 in price. I love the notion of the films being packaged together.

The slip isn't glossy so this won't perfectly match the standard release of the first film.

Goo Gone does the trick but it's still a b*tch and you'll leave indentations on the slip from your fingernails if you're not careful:

At opening, my Best Buy only had six Steels (one of which I bought), so I'd be a little nervous if you can't swing by to check for yourself until after work.

Rubbing alcohol does the trick as well with less problems.

The price to buy both on 4K separately will cost you about $60 with tax. This 2 film collection will only cost you $40. That's saving you money. What's so bad about the price now?

Target

Picked mine up at Target today, they had a deal where with the purchase of the movie, you get a box of popcorn and bag of candy for free

Going to make up some popcorn when I sit down and watch the special features, commentary, and documentary soon.

Watching this for the first time tonight.

10 minutes in and the audio mix is killing me.

I have the volume cranked way up and I can barely hear the dialogue.

Then my hears blow out when the music kicks in or there’s a big sound effect.

...it’s killing me.

Shame about the stickers being a problem.

I actually think the slipcover looks nicer in person than the steenbok.

But I’ve had some very dark experiences with slipcovers, stickers and Goo Gone.

...I ain’t goin back there.

Picked the 4K up at Target, got the free candy and popcorn with it. Really wish Target had another exclusive to match the first.

RE: the stickers, mine came right off, left no marks or residue. What I do is peel a corner of the sticker ever so slightly, then take a pair of tweezers and pull it off slowly. Works every time.

Watched it over the weekend and while not a total disappointment, I would have preferred it being more in line with the first one.

This had a lot of humor and some scenes were just weird.

I'm not familiar with the book but those who have read it, would you say Chapter Two captured the spirit and tone accordingly?

But yeah, Amy Adams 100% should've been adult Bev.

Honestly, Chastain has been pretty underwhelming in most of her roles and career choices post-ZDT.

Amy Adams is pretty great for the most part. Chastain is fine, but I haven't been thoroughly impressed by her in anything to be honest... and yeah, Amy in Arrival is awesome. That guy is being dense.

Most of all though... Sophia Lillis looks JUST like Amy Adams. Like almost 100%. The fact they had the intent to cast older actors that somewhat resemble their younger counterparts in the movie, and to not even try and cast Amy Adams is just a huge misstep imo.

But as for the release... I can wait. I wasn't in love with Chapter Two as much as I was the first film. So I'll wait for a significant price drop.

Andy Muschietti and Chastain are good friends and they made Mama together so she was probably always his first choice for adult Bev.

I think she did fine in the role, and I dont think Adam's could have done much more with the role or improved the film much.
