How about just not making a shitty movie, guy?
Then call me soft because I've been saying the same thing since the moment I got back from seeing it

(Have you, y'know, seen it yet though to form your own opinion?)

If anything, I don't think people want another T2.

It already felt like that was retreaded to a degree in 'Rise of the Machines'--and ironically, it feels like Miller actually attempted to recreate that same formula with this film, hence the critical comparison to 'The Last Jedi.'

I've still yet to see the movie. Probably waiting for home release. But even if I end up liking it--which is very well possible--I just wish the dude could take a criticism that didn't result in him getting ultra sensitive and defensive about everything.

Side note: What the **** @ them using the same T-800 designs from 'Genisys'.

Talk about lazy filmmaking.

Really Tim? Was bringing back Linda Hamilton and Arnold, and a cgi Ed Furlong supposed to be a stroke of genius or something? Of course not! It was nostalgia bait just as the marketing and media buzz was nostalgia bait. You made a movie that was a direct follow up to T2... like no shit that fans were going in with certain expectations, because you set the stage for it. Just as you set the stage for backlash by putting in that scene for shock value and controversy. Be a man, and own your decision making.

I honestly hope I'm wrong about my predictions for it.

I was rooting for it all summer long, even when I saw footage I didn't necessarily care for.

I am a little put off at them rehashing the same design work from the film it's supposed to be retconning, though. I hated the Terminator designs from Genisys, and I have no idea why they used them again, considering it was an entirely new production crew. It's almost like using stock footage, it's strange.

I have seen it and while a decent action movie the story is trash. Series ends at T2 for me. Miller is now another director I have no interest in his future movies. Right there with Rian Johnson.

Even though it cost a ****ton of money I wouldn't bet against them re-using the CG assets for those Terminators from Genisys to save money, rather than recreating the proper T-800 from digital scratch for all of 22 seconds (yes I timed it ).

Tim Miller is to Terminator, what Rian Johnson is to Star Wars. We fans like T2 because it’s an incredible action and sci-fi movie. These people have no business making movies.

T2 feels incredibly dated now. I am much happier with DF.

Lol what. The effects in T2 still look better than the fake cgi in Fate.

I really don't think that's the case at all. I watched the 3D conversion of T2 recently, the effects looked very old and unconvincing, even worse was that the pacing of the movie didn't seem as tight as it did back when it was a newish film.

DF easily blows it out of the water in every regard, and then some.

You’re not the only one who thinks like that. Marvel is a multi billion dollar industry. It’s a shame standards of quality no longer exist.

Same crap. Legendary filmmakers such as Scorsese, Spielberg, etc. are starting to speak up. Hollywood is in serious trouble.

But DF and others are heavily influenced by Marvel. Because, you know, money.

These popcorn movies today can't be their own thing because the studios want a piece of the Marvel formula thinking that will drive audiences and their cash.

A lot of Terminator fans were clamoring for a back to basics story... small scale, character driven, gritty, adult, grounded, and reliant on mostly in-camera effects and stunts like the originals.

Instead Miller and Co. threw a bunch of crap on the wall to see what would stick. The stunt pieces became more and more ludicrous and reliant on CG as the movie moved forward.

I thought it was a great reinvention of the franchise. Glad that they made it, there's nothing about it I would change.

I agree about the Marvel influence but I think this was far more evident with Genisys.
