Can’t believe its half the price in America! We’ll never get it at that price over here. Snap it up people, that is a great price.

Gotta love that sweet, sweet Lionsgate affordability.

Anyone think there's any chance Amazon will still have slipcovers? Pulled the trigger at $13

I find it kind of humorous that people are refusing to buy a 4K disc because it doesn't have 1978 audio on it.

I know people like what they like, but the whole point of 4K discs is to have a movie in the best (theoretically) quality possible, both video and audio.

Is the 4K considerably darker than the 35th? I saw a few comparison screenshots and it looks a little darker

Some people want the best-possible-quality version of the original movie, not of a revision of the movie.

A revision of the movie? Again with the hyperbole. These so-called revisions are incredibly minor and inconsequential.

If something this minor is considered a line in the sand...then we have reached the point where it should probably be more about questioning priorities in life and less about which word should be used.

I get to decide what is important to me, but not what is important to anyone else.

I wish that they had included the original audio, but it was not a deal breaker for me. I bought it, anyway, as it is still a helluva bargain in my opinion.

Be careful when you go by 4k HDR screenshots online. There are moments when the movie is a little darker. But usually you can make out more shadow detail on the 4k version.

Yeah, as dissapointing as the lack of a correct mono track is, I’m good with this release based on the video quality couple with its nice price. Don’t think I’ll be popping in the Scream Factory disc again anytime soon.

The original movie was only viewable on film in a 2.39:1 OAR

Every version of the film ever released on home video has been "revisionist" as you would put it.

So not really losing much by passing on it IMO.
I still ordered it, but based on Caps a Holic, they look fairly close. There is more fine detail on the UHD, noticeable for sure, but it is not like this one is upgrading from a mediocre BD release. I totally understand holding off over the lack of original mono track. I plan on owning both, but if forced to only own one (unlikely, lol), I might end up keeping the BD because it is more faithful on the audio end of things. The video looks to be similar, just less detailed.

TCM says it was 2.35:1, which the UHD Blu-ray matches. Source for it being 2.39:1 when originally released?

IMDb says 2.39:1 but IMDb is IMDb.

The 4K HAS mono on it.

Are you now complaining it isn't lossless mono?
