![]() Atmos is capable of greater dynamic range than HD MA? Anyway, even if it is, let's be honest here: I don't think anyone hoping for an Atmos remix would be satisfied with the exact same channel layout but slightly improved dynamic range. You're talking about a spatial re-arrangement and that's a very different kettle of fish from simple dynamics and noise floor. |

Gotta admit, I saw it in theaters in a THX-certified auditorium with an SDDS track (one of the few movies I saw in SDDS) and thought the presentation was exceptionally good for a movie of that time. I then saw it a second time in regular theater with DTS sound and it was good but I still preferred the SDDS track (I think it was 6 channel but I could be wrong). I've yet to seen a home video release top that experience.

Any movie (basically) is capable of being given an Atmos track. Some like Sony are generous and gives it to all their movies regardless of age, while others like Fox and WB give to certain movies they feel will sell well/had it theatrically. Blade Runner got an Atmos track cause WB felt it would sell well and so they could re-release it theatrically in Dolby Cinemas with DV/Atmos. So every studio has their reasons, but Sony seems to be the only one that's always a sure-bet for Atmos.

The Matrix DVDs had great menus, Revolutions especially. If they won't update those for the UHD (they won't), a simple animation loop of the Matrix digital rain would be cool.

How do we know this is even legit? I see people are getting so excited but I don't see any evidence from any reliable sources that this title is being released, at least anytime soon.
Apparently the release date is 24th of March according to the Amazon link? But if I check most of the UHD sites and upcoming titles the Matrix isn't featured at all! It's conspicuously absent. I believe there was another "prediction" last year from a German source that claimed The Matrix in UHD would release last year and ... never did. So I'm very sceptical at the moment unless there is an official statement from Warner Bros confirming the Matrix in UHD. Anyone got any reliable sources? |

The other source was from Warner Bros Poland. We got a glimpse of Warners UHD plans yes. |

Does anyone think the soundtrack will get a facelift especially in the bass department? Or just left untouched from the Blu-ray version (Dolby TrueHD soundtrack)?
