Paramount did release a 25th anniversary Blu-ray standalone edition of MI1 this year with the new transfer

Saw that. Was hoping for the second and third to get the same treatment.

Unlike a lot of studio product it looks like Putemout have stuck to the theatrical audio for the M:I series.

1-3: Dolby TrueHD 5.1
4: Dolby TrueHD 7.1
5-6: Dolby Atmos

Sadly, they don't. At least not the first film:

For years I wondered if it was indeed the theatrical on the LD and I finally got to see a print screening where lo and behold it was there. I talk about it more in the latest Laser Wolfpack episode where we spotlighted favorite sounding discs. 21:31 is the time if you want to skip through.https://youtu.be/2zI60xZP1q8
This LD is that good. It’s so common everyone should own it. And the 2.0 matrix surround also has the bass intact so if you don’t have a demodulator it can still be enjoyed. The mix on this film in general is one of my all time favorite tracks so it kills me for some reason they decided to remove the wonderful impact of the LFE.
Not sure about the sequels though.

Aw, ****sticks!

Are there any other movies that had native 5.1 theatrical mixes but were STILL remixed for 5.1 disc release(s)?

In case anyone has been trying to track down the 6 film 4K set to no avail, as I have been, MovieMars has some stock up on Amazon right now.

I don't have any direct knowledge, but I'm sure there are quite a few.

Question about II. On IMDb, I saw this in the "Alternate Versions" section:

Quote:
The UK cinema version is the most complete version of the film to date, featuring additional scenes of violence. Additional footage includes:

a loud crunch during the aeroplane hijack as Ambrose twists and breaks Dr. Nekhorvich's neck

the actual impact and blood spurt on Stamp's knee when Ambrose shoots it, thinking Stamp is Ethan

the kick to Hunt's face during the beach fight is seen in full and does not cut away to Ambrose' face at the point of impact It is assumed that this version is the cut of the film made before trims were made to it for the MPAA to secure a PG-13 rating.
My question is does the 4K restore these cuts or not?

I always thought part 3 looked average but boy was I wrong. HDR on this is making a big difference.

The hidden surprises and change of opinion brought by revisiting something that was watched ages ago.

I don't think any DVD or Blu-ray has it. DVDcompare didn't seem to spot any extra or cut bits.

A more violent version seemed to have screened in UK and Norway according to the IMDB link.

EDIT: Apparently, a workprint version circulated around the internet that's closer to the original, but it seems to be lost to the public.

Anyone know why Mission: Impossible III 4k is basically out of stock everywhere? Did this somehow go OOP?

None. Every home release has conformed to the PG-13 version.

Pretty sure the UK cinema version was uncut because I remember hearing the neck break in the opening sequence and thinking 'oh, that's probably why this one's a '15' (the original M:I was a PG).

I was wondering, maybe someone here has an ac3 track from Mission Impossible (Laserdisc)? It would be great to finally hear this legendary mix.

That's weird. DOB, POB, face, nearest relative, but no height?

Some security system at Langley, not triggering alarm when user logs into computer after checking out of room.

Apparently 4K Steelbooks were planned for the first 3 movies, but have been cancelled.
