Quick question.... if anyone even knows. Is the BD included gonna be a new disc or the 35th anniversary disc?

With all these 4K UHD discs coming out, it’s interesting as to what is the percentage of households that own a UHD player. My guess is at least 20%.

Damn, well I just might have to get this now. Don't have a 4K TV or player but this is my favourite horror movie of all time. Still have my Limited Edition THX DVD from Anchor Bay. It was the first Blu-ray I bought as well.

According to this article from last year it's about 30% now that own a 4K TV. Not sure about players though. https://www.rbr.com/uhd-ownership-cta-study/

I still haven't jumped on the 4K but if my favorite films keep being released with great video and audio I will eventually upgrade.

You think 20% households have a UHD player? My guess would be under 10%.

Not a bad idea to future proof at that price.

It's unknown at the moment. With Lionsgate, since their 4K releases were already from DI's (Whether they be shot on film or digital) there wasn't a whole lot of incentive to put a "remastered" BD disc. I'm hoping this, The Evil Dead, and American Psycho get remastered BDs (especially American Psycho) though admittedly the old "The Evil Dead" disc still looks damn good.

Evil Dead's BD is still exceptional considering the source material involved, yeah.

Counting them would be misleading since a lot of gamers who purchased those consoles did not and have no intention of buying UHD discs.

This always seems odd to me. I would think that gamers who want the latest and greatest tech for gaming would love the idea of having the same for movies, but it doesn't necessarily feel that way.

The gamers I know seeem to have accepted streaming wholeheartedly. None of the people I know with XBOXs have bought even a single 4k disc, even those with 4k tvs. Of course, this is all anecdotal, but still...

Heck, I remember back in the days of BD knowing plenty of people with PS3 consoles who still bought DVDs, with no real plans of moving to BD. Eventually though, I do feel that the PS3 was certainly instrumental in BD winning the format war.

Other than myself, I don't know anybody in real life who has started buying 4k discs. It's weird it isn't happening on a larger scale, but I think there are many people out there who are content with the occasional trip to the theater for tent pole releases, Redbox for new releases they missed theatrically, and Netflix for general movie watching at home.

Presumably the Blu-ray will have the new extras though, right?

Did Amazon's listing get taken down? Really want to pre-order this for the collection!

If they have an XBOX One S or X and are buying 4K discs then sure, I'm counting them.. But, like 4kUltraBD, I have no friends/relatives who has bought 4K discs. I don't think any of them even buy physical media anymore..

20% sounds way too high. I’d guess MAYBE 1%. Higher if we count Xboxs, but yeah, almost no one has a dedicated 4K player. It’s still a niche of a niche.

Does anybody know if this will release in the UK? I was incredibly disappointed that the UK never got the full blu ray boxset release and I would be devastated if we didn't get the 4k release of this disc as it's my favorite movie of all time.
