The euro version of the BD comes with French, German, Italian and Japanese 2.0 and gets rid of the Portuguese and English 2.0 (presumably OG audio) of the US disc. Again: these DD 2.0 tracks aren't taking up a lot of space. Let's say they keep the English 2.0 and both flavours of French and Spanish, plus Portuguese, German, Italian and Russian. If they're all at 192 kb/s (with 256 Mb/s for the English 2.0) then that's 1.8 Mb/s in total which is just over 3GB for a show of this length. Not a problem, as this isn't like Warners or Sony putting 17 5.1 tracks on a disc at 448 or 640 along with a few lossless dubs as well.

Yeah, that's the wider point Hedrox was making: even though I believe that Paramount could easily do a 'one size' disc without compromising what's there, they're prolly not going to if Coming to America was any indication, it just had French and German for additional languages, not even subtitles for other countries even though subs take up a fraction of space.

Actually, it’s even a little less on DeepDiscount right now. Amazon’s price, currently $23.99 will probably drop a little lower between now and release date. I’m just glad list price is way south of $40. This gives online merchants something to work with.

Will definitely pick this one up. I got one gripe with this one though; it moves at a snail's pace - something Ridley Scott improved in his remake. However, I love the sets, and the special effects for a 50s movie are very good. The scope of this one is incredible. It still amazes me all the extras that were hired for this flick. This is definitely Hollywood's "Go big or go home" movie.

Huh, I always thought the pacing was basically perfect, but I suppose I tend to prefer long movies with slow paces (BR2049 & 2001: ASO, for example)

This 1956 Ten Commandments movie back in the year 2010 received a 6K scan of the original 35mm negative. Finally on March 30th 2021 one of my favorite faith based movies is getting a native 4K (2160P) release in Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format. This 3 hour and 51 minute movie fits on one 100GB 4K Blu-ray disc. The original 5.1 PCM studio master that was offered on the original March 29th 2011 Blu-ray release using lossless 5.1 DTS-HD Master audio was ported over to this 4K Blu-ray release. My preorder was placed for this classic Cecil B Delille’s movie.

Back on March 29th 2011 I purchased the Ten Commandments boxset on the standard (2K) 1080P Blu-ray format. The advantage of that boxset is that it included 3 Blu-ray discs with the 3rd Blu-ray disc having the 1923 version of the movie in true 1080P with some other extras. Therefore because this new 4K version of the Ten Commandments does not include the 1923 version of the movie, I will still keep the old boxset. This was a limited edition of 100,000 copies made for that boxset.

Just pre-ordered this from Target at 20% off (along with The Good the Bad and the Ugly and Spaceballs 4K and the Bad News Bears BD).

Estimated delivery is "March 31 -- April 5." I really hope it arrives before Easter (April 4), that would be fun!

If you preorder it from Amazon and a prime member, you should get the movie on release day or the day after, but definitely you'll get it before Easter.

The Ten Commandments is such a fantastic movie, the viewer rarely notice the time and speaking of Ridley Scott's: Exodus Gods and Kings, it can't touch the 1954 version of The Ten Commandments. Christian Bale has an accent and a lisp, and sometimes it's hard to understand what he's saying in his movies.

The blu-ray was just about perfect. I hope this one betters it, but doesn't harm it. That restoration was just beautiful. Picture and sound were spot on.
