I agree. Christopher Reeve's performance in that movie is quite amazing. He does a wonderful job selling all "four" characters.

It was never a Zavvi exclusive they were just the first to leak it last week, plenty said it would appear at other retailers on Monday and it has.

The only release exclusive to Zavvi is the Superman II UHD steelbook.

Highlights of SIII for me;

- Cornfield scene
- chemical plant scene
- superman at the bar
- junkyard scene
- final battle with the robowoman

The rest of the film is pretty average to poor and the opening credits are a travesty.

I'd buy an individual of III if it was $20 or less just for those scenes.

I actually do enjoy quite a bit of the silly humor in SIII. Granted, it’s out of place in a Superman film, but…taken on its own, it always makes me chuckle

“Never worn the same pair of socks twice”. lol

This remains a stupid goal of mine if I ever win the lottery, just because of Superman III.

Why isn't the Director's Cut from 2001 of Superman not being included in the upcoming 4K Edition?

I prefer the Director's Cut from 2001 over the Theatrical Cut from 1978.

I'll be the weirdo who likes the opening credits. For the first two films, you had very grandiose, expansive opening scenes (destruction of Krypton/Eiffel Tower hijack).

The Rube Goldberg humor for the opening scene of III is a nice change of pace, suggesting that the third film wasn't going to repeat the first two. It's also very much Richard Lester's style.

It always makes me laugh - it's a scene I can imagine taking place in the great Superman: The Animated Series. The scene of Clark changing in the photo booth and giving the kid only one of the photos is a nice moment.

I even like the opening scene for IV, with Superman rescuing the cosmonauts and speaking in Russian. The rest of the film... whew.

I like the opening scene, as well. Could've been a nice, humurous opening, had the rest of the movie been better.

Who said STM will have a brand new UHD scan? If it's true, then I'll gladly acquire it

I could see WB doing a new scan for Superman and then not releasing it. They have done dumber things.

I don't think so, but I do wonder what source elements for a remaster still exist and what quality could be accomplished on Blu-ray. I'd particularly like to see the color episodes remastered from original film elements. I've never thought they have looked that good when I've seen them.
