And you're entitled to. But I think it's always worth pointing out to anyone who asks about a disc's quality that the original audio is missing. Original audio is always the best, even if the remix is "good".

I said it’s the best it’s looked. I didn’t mention audio because most people don’t care. It’s an afterthought to many. Not everyone thinks original audio is best.

Why would I troll anyone? All it said was but not sounded...so that makes no sense. Plus this movie is practically as old as I am, I don’t expect it to have perfect audio. To me picture is more important as Ross said

Watches the umbrella disc and was not impressed with the print damage and blown highlights. Looks like 4k will be the way to go

Since people are discussing the audio again... I actually did buy the Spanish BD as well some time ago by now and compared the two tracks myself.

1. Yes, there's the thunder difference which I NEVER would've noticed myself and there's the changed "sting" as well, which I also NEVER would've noticed.
2. Other than that, except for the mono being louder (which I actually don't even notice that much either when listening via my proper setup - no idea if there are some flags playing a part here), both sound basically exactly the same to me and no one would be able to tell the difference IMHO.

I actually uploaded two samples elsewhere and here are just the normalized to -3dB (nothing else!) versions of both. I won't tell you which is which, because I'm an *******, but people are free to guess.

I’m just listening to those samples on my phone without earphones, but if I had to guess I’d say in each case the first link is the mono and the second link is the remix. I just think the mono sounds better overall. Much of the music in the remix has a tinny echoing sound to it. Although I do like the remix version of the intro music because there are some nice extra layers added in. I’m not sure if they were added in later or just didn’t come through well in the mono.

Not listened to the samples but this remix isn't the worst such redo that's ever been perpetrated on a movie, I managed to get through the US UHD without bursting into flames and I can't be arsed going to any special measures to mux the proper OG mono with it. I've got the Spanish official bootleg BD and that'll do fine if I need to scratch that itch.

Nope. The way the film sounded in the theatre is how it should sound on disc. Remixes are little more than aural colourisation.

Yes, but even if I didn't...

There are tons of films from the last 20 years you can use to show off your multi-channel upgrades without vandalising older mono and stereo tracks.
