It's the same thing with the last few Star Wars movies @ the theaters.
It's the same thing with the last couple Oppo players. |

Checking my purchasing history, I got 30 4k UHDs around Black Friday from either Best Buy or Amazon or B&N (Harry Potter boxed set) for prices cheaper than I've ever seen them. Though Black Friday is not really indicative of typical costs, of course. |

To add to the shifting color timing debate:
After having just watched the disc, the biggest offender is at 1:24:20 during the Agent Smith/Morpheus bathroom fight. The color goes from washed out, to green tint, back to washed out in a quick three cut span. |

Laughter is always a good thing for your health, so I'm glad I could be of service.
Btw, the most expensive UHD disc I've bought so far cost me around 11 Euro. I'm talking about Blade Runner 2049. And that's because I really wanted to watch it and not wait a few weeks more, cause, if I did, it would have cost me 10 Euro. |

So I picked up the Matrix 4K/BD set for $20 off an eBay seller who apparently just wanted the download code, received it this week and watched the Blu-ray last night. Frankly, I think aside from pleasingly toning down the green from the older releases and some better detail, I think the new BD looks terrible with the fried highlights.
Now I hear the 4K disc looks better, but my problem is, I have a 4k Oppo 203 new still sealed in the box, saving it for the day I finally upgrade to a 4K tv. I'm currently using a 65" Panasonic VT50/Oppo 103 and I'm curious if breaking out the 4k Oppo and running it into my 1080p VT50 to watch the 4K version will yield better results than the BD. I've been accumulating about a dozen 4K/BD combos of favorite movies for the day when I upgrade my tv so I'll have something to watch, but should I just go ahead and least enjoy whatever limited benefits the Oppo 203 > VT50 might give me? Or is it pointless until I go 4K tv? |

blu-ray.com's Oppo UDP-203 thread: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=282570 AVSForum is pretty active on the Oppo players and you're not the only one with questions about connecting 4K/UHD boxes to 1080p displays/AVRs etc. |
