I only noticed some slight flickering in the dark parts of the first scene. But it looks more like old film-flicker rather than something amiss with the display.

Seek out the original Criterion commentary with Carpenter and Debra Hill. It's great.

That commentary is actually available in the 4K package... seeing as the godawful 2007 Blu-ray is included.

I’m not a fan of the newer JC/JLC commentary either. Prefer the older one. I also like the commentary with Dean Cundey, Tommy Lee Wallace, and Nick Castle that I believe is exclusive to the 15-disc boxset.

I was thinking about this film and thought about an angle which could have been taken...

As we find out in the first two films, Laurie's crush gets killed while trick or treating, while wearing the same costume as Myers. What if he weren't killed, and Laurie at some point mistook him for Myers, exacted lethal revenge on him in some way, only to pull the mask off and realize she just killed the man she was enamored with...

I’ve personally used Amazon Basics and also Monoprice and the quality is exactly the same with both and I’ve never had any issues..

I received this 4K blu-ray and many others for Christmas. Watching it now . Very pleased so far. But I’ll be honest, never seen any version of this film except in HD on AMC.

Well, how do you think the 4k version compares to the HD version on AMC? Just curious

Yeah.

As an OLED owner, I've had no issues with this disc 'flickering'.

Yeah there is really no difference in HDMI cables, they either work or they don’t. Monoprice cables are great.

Ha! I thought it looked beautiful. A very Film-like presentation if you know what I mean. Also surprised this film is R-rated. Probably due to the brief nudity. Not much blood at all. And no real cursing that I could tell/hear.

There wasn't a PG-13 rating in 1978.

Oh I know. Didn’t exist until the mid 80s. Just saying, if it went through the MPAA today, minus the slight nudity, I wonder what it’s rating would be.

Side note, never thought the 1st Matrix deserved an R-rating either. Not that any of this matters; I’m 33 lol

It could probably had a PG-13 rating if it was rated nowadays. But yeah, the 4k presentation was very good indeed.
