I love it when people answer a question by saying the exact same shit the post right above theirs says. Is that an ego thing?

On balance, I still think there's a strong chance that burnt-in English subtitles will be on the German 4K disc. Said subtitles are identical on the Aussie Blu-ray and the Lionsgate 4K, so they were added by the production company - not the distributor. If the subs were player-generated, there would be no hope. But the subs are part of the digital intermediate.

If this was a Disney film we were talking about, subtitles like that would vary based on the territory. But I'm not sure if the production company for Last Blood would be bothered enough to customise the subtitles for each territory. So yeah, we'll see.

Which is fine, but since there's no hard of hearing subs for English, the German is a wash and worthless to some people.

So let’s not talk about it for all the people for whom it isn’t?

Inevitable Rambo legacy collection. It would be awesome if they did an entire, comprehensive collection with alternate versions of 4/5....... And maybe do a re-do of the Rambo 4 UHD :/

Universal's non-US releases are the worst for that. If there's any of kind of subs or text integrated into the film, it's a guarantee the "international" release will have like 50 different player-generated streams for them.

Look I'm hoping for everyones sake that the German release does have English subtitles for the Spanish language scenes but logically a German release is gonna have German burnt-in subtitles not English. And us hoping that the production company (Lionsgate in this case) would create just one digital intermediate with English only subtitles for the entire world unfortunately isn't very likely because they haven't done it in past. In fact Lionsgate have gone to a lot of effort in at least one recent case to create the same fancy German subtitles for the Russian dialogue scenes in John Wick Chapter 3 as they did for the English ones.

Debate time.

After Rambo talks to Carmen about wanting to get revenge and she agrees, he starts his killing spree. When he steps into the mansion, he stabs a guy and to my eyes and my interpretation, he grins as the scene ends.

My friend is amendment he's not grinning but it's a grimace instead. My take is that he just talked to Carmen about needing revenge and he's taking pleasure in his killing. It's almost like the beast has been awoken again.

A heated debate. What do you think? Grin or grimace?

Lionsgate/Summit weren't the production company on Last Blood - they were the distributor.

Millennium Media/Balboa Productions made Last Blood

Taken...John Rambo has special skills don’t you know

Loved it, just like Bryan Mills told that kidnapper on the phone what he would do to him, Rambo told him the same thing as well and then proceeded to deliver

The chances the german release will have english subs (whole movie or just spanish dialogue) are pretty slim. Universum films releases normally don't feature any subs except for german.
Better wait for a professional review on it, but those usually don't give a shit about subs or wait for a pic of the backcover.

Really sucks the 4K release didn't include the extended version . The first 7 minutes cut was a great opening to the film .

I just bought their 8-disc set for DAS BOOT and it appears to have English subs, so I’m hoping against hope they do right by us again on LAST BLOOD. Probably pissing in the wind, I realize, but hey, it’s keeping me warm for the moment.

No, but it’s definitely an ego thing to keep shouting “first!” in every thread because you posted something 2 posts before someone else.l, like it’s a competition. Hint: it’s not, but it sure is funny to watch.
