I watched the UHD last night and was pleasantly surprised at how big of an upgrade it is. The 35th anniversary disc already looked good, but the increased detail and HDR make this a must own. Also, call me crazy, but I swear that the mono mix sounds much better here than it does on the previous disc. I’m aware that it’s still a downmix of the surround track, but it sounds a lot less muddled to me.

I agree, a classic horror movie has never looked or sounded better! original audio does sound better despite the remastered audio of the previous disc sounds great but mono i'm glad is included.

Just wish it was the right mono.

(I still don't understand why a mono downmix of a multi-channel remix even exists. Stereo, of course, but mono?)

Didn't get the other 4K copy, so I ordered this one. Nice to have a digital copy as well.

This disc has a lot of flickering in the opening sequences specifically with the titles and credits, is this a known issue?

It's flickering at the top and bottom of the screen. I checked my HDMI connections and all is fine. None of my other 4K Blus do this. It kind of reminds me of when you would play a tape in a VCR. I put in the standard Blu ray and it plays just fine. Any ideas? Or has this been a reported issue with the 4K Disc that I was hust unaware of?

The TV could be playing a part in what you are seeing. For example, the LG CX OLEDs are currently showing raised blacks with Dolby Vision content and Are awaiting a firmware update to fix. Raised blacks on OLEDs can sometimes cause flickering. Sometimes, it is instead a display issue entirely. Most likely if it is TV related, then the issue would present Itself with similar content. I’m not too familiar with the Hisense models so can’t speak to any potential issues. That being said, typically disc issues present themselves as skipping or audio dropouts. It’s entirely possible this could be a disc issue, but my first thought was HDMI, player, then display. This is not a widespread issue warranting a replacement program that I’m aware of. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
