Saw it. It's solid but I'm unsure about the tone. Definitely not my favorite Rambo but it's a solid movie and I look forward to watching it again on UHD.

I can’t wait to see this one. I absolutely loved the last one, as it was way darker and more serious than the other ones. We are going to see Ad Astra tomorrow night. I wanted to see Rambo, but got out voted. Apparently the wife owns 51% of the company....

Side note about this one, even though it's a 4K DI, some of the drone shots are awful. Soft, lacking in dynamic range, and with noticeable aliasing.

Also noticed some tell-tale signs of DNR in low-light scenes, such as Gabby speaking to her father, and Rambo talking to Gizelle. One supposes a lot of the night-time scenes had sensor noise, and along the line, somebody chose to DNR several shots - be it the DP, the director, or Sly.

So expect another 4K disc that's faithful to the source and looks gorgeous when it's on, but there will be source-related shortcomings as well. So expect a barrage of exaggerated "This 4K disc is so ugly" and "The movie looks like $hit!!" statements. This forum is great for them.

It sucked, but it will be interesting to compare which version is worse because of the multiple cuts. lol

Great film. I'll be getting this day one and slo-mo'ing some of those slasher movie gore shots (of which there are many) in the latter part.

Well, you've at least done a good job prefacing it with a very observant "I saw it in the theater" post while it's still fresh in your mind, so people can refer back to it if need be.

Do you think Rambo would let his wife choose the movie? (er, if he had one).

Good to see some positive feedback here. The critic reviews have been savage.

Whenever the critics actually like anything, it's usually a highly effective cure for insomnia.

Heard this left the critics feeling upset and offended, that’s as strong of an endorsement as you can give a movie nowadays lol

Well, yesterday afternoon I talked the wife into going to this for a matinee. I have to say, I loved it! It was everything I was hoping for, as I had also loved the last Rambo movie. Ya, it was very graphic and dark, but that’s what I liked about the last one. It seems silly, but it kind of feels like seeing an old friend after many years. I don’t love everything Stallone does, but I am a huge fan of his. I was great to see him in Creed too.

I’m a massive Stallone and Rambo fan. This film was so awful. Maybe the most disappointing film I’ve seen at the cinema ever. The whole film was so rushed. So much potential but nah.... just awful.

I didn't know most of the Rambo sequels got lambasted by critics, so this doesn't mean much. I'm surprised to see the accusations of racism in there, it doesn't seem like the film is meant to be a commentary of any sorts, just a brainless shoot them up?

David Morrell said on Twitter though (writer of the novel First Blood) that he's ashamed of being associated with this film. Wow.

Lol, in this day and age, I'm not surprised at all. Nowadays everything it seems is racism. *sigh*
