There seems to be no consensus about how season 2 was finished, some say it got a 4K DI, others say it's a 2K upconverted to 4K just like season 1. |

More than likely HBO is just continuing with a season three release because it's their biggest show right now outside of Succession which would probably tank on 4K just like Castle Rock. Miniseries like Watchman and Chernobyl in 4K would be nice but wouldn't boost HBO subs like Westworld which is a continuing series.

To whatever extent it matters, HBO doesn't appear to be handling the home video releases of Westworld themselves. Westworld is coming directly from Warner, unlike, say, Game of Thrones and Chernobyl, which are under HBO Home Entertainment. (Or, at least, I don't see any prominent mention of HBO Home Entertainment on my two Westworld UHD sets the way I do with other HBO series.)

The 1st two releases for Westworld were very good and this season even via lowly streaming tops both of them (set wise). This should be another winner if they handle it the same way. |

DC Universe starting offering 4K HDR almost a year ago so HBO Max having at least that much if not also Dolby is a given. We are really overdue for some info on HBO Max with May being less than 3 weeks away.

Thumbs up to Warner. Most of the current tv shows I buy on disc are WB shows. They all go on good sales... eventually. E.g, all their superhero shows on Blu-ray were $10 a few weeks ago. Yes, please!
I'll definitely get season 3 when it hits $25. |

Did they decide to drop DV support with Season 3?
