the first one is the one that I want more than anything. I'd maybe pick up the other films at a later date.
My favorites are 3 & 4.

Lossless on the 4K is a given. 5.1 or Atmos is the question now.

Sounds good. I imagine you’re right. I guess it seems ridiculous these have been released on Blu-ray so many times now, all containing compressed Dolby digital. Sad.

I too am looking forward to the first one and honestly will probably pick up the first 3 simply for the audio improvement alone.

I imported them from Scandinavia I think. Region free discs and the first 3 have lossless audio and it’s a night and day difference

Never picked up MI:I on blu because of the poverty DVD audio, will see how the audio is on these discs and the included blu-ray.

I’ve had the Scandinavian releases for a few years. Lossless and better encodes.

640kbps vs. 384/448kbps is a big difference.

M:I:III - even in lossy - packs the punch I remember from the theatrical. The MPEG2 encode still looks decent as well.

3 has a cracking audio mix whichever way you slice it. I prefer my lossless Hong Kong version tho

Back in the day, I used to use the bridge/missile scene from #3 as my go-to demo. That and the helicopter chase through the windmill farm scene.

Good stuff.

has an official press release been issued? I'm surprised Paramount didn't announce Dolby Vision on the discs.

Bridge scene, Burj Khalifa and stealing the NOC list are my three faves of the franchise. I still remember the audience reaction to TC getting slammed into the car even though it was in every trailer lol

I don't believe they've ever announced Dolby Vision. It just shows up on the back of the package and/or on the disc art.

Yep!! The first time they showed the bridge scenes in the trailers, my entire faith in the franchise was restored.

The Burj Skalifa scene was certifiably EPIC in the IMAX theater. The first time Ethan makes his way out the open window and the camera swings down to show how far the ground was, my back side puckered a bit.

I understand Brad Bird's decision not to go with the VAR on the home release, but I was still disappointed because those expansive IMAX sequences still would have been cool to see at home.

Having been to the Burj Khalifa, I know how freaky the height of that thing is, even if you're standing behind a thick pane of glass lol. Seeing Ghost Protocol in IMAX captured it perfectly.

Another money grab unless they are fully remastered in 4K and DTS:X or ATMOS not worth it! Also, I will wait until they are $9 each in six months after release!

I had the DVD for I, II and III bought the Blu-rays but the quality was so bad returned them.

The blu-rays for Rogue Nation and Ghost Protocol are much better.

I'll buy almost anything these days but I've gotta save something for Black Friday sales. These will be nice pickups when they're cheap.
