I don't even try to watch UHDs during the daytime anymore, 1080p discs only. My living room is just way too bright in the afternoon even if I draw the thick curtains.

Same. I've got some decent light blocking curtains but even the light leakage around them is enough to raise the ambient light level in the room during the daytime, so now I watch HDR at nighttime only.

That's a good point Phil....

I am waiting to read more reviews of the high end Panasonic GZ2000 Oled which has a claimed peak brightness of around 900-1000 nits which would make it just about the perfect tv for all room types/ambient brightness conditions.

My FZ802 can do around 700 nits which in all honesty, when you take into account the perfect contrast and excellent dynamic tone mapping makes HDR seriously impressive in all but direct sunlight.

I'm not sure it's even a question of nits, goosey. My Sony hits 900 and Geoff's is a certified light cannon, hitting something like 1500? I can still enjoy and see the effect of HDR in a brighter room but it just seems neutered to me so i'd rather wait and watch in the dark so I can gets ma monies worth , if that makes sense.

Aye laddy, thou maketh perfect sense...

HDR definitely belongs to the dark side

There is a great deal on 4K steelbooks for Matrix in Beatbuy, $13 each (3 discs each including I believe remastered Blu ray) or $29! For the trilogy (only 3 discs for 4K movies), I just ordered individual steelbooks for pickup but were also available for shipping.

Yup. Almost jumped on it but eh, the standard cases with slips (and swapped with an unstacked tray case) are plenty nice for me.

I hate the covers but that is cheap shame the UK never got the solo discs.

The backs and insides look fine but woof those fronts need custom lenticular magnets or something to cover them up.

I'd love to grab them too but after driving around all day couldn't find a Beatbuy anywhere...

I picked up Revolutions and Reloaded steels. Will stick with the “embryo” steelbook version for the original. Killer deal!

I think they are available for shipping still, for those who can’t find them locally. The bby in Memphis, didn’t have them out front someone grabbed them from the back, so if you don’t see them out front check with them they might have some in the back.

Just picked up my copy of the first one, man these covers are ugly as hell.

$13 for the 4K/blu/digital, I'm not complaining though.

Agreed. It's a very nice UHD.

The accompanying remastered BD is a blown out joke.

Hell yea. SO GLAD I didn't buy these when they were new. Honestly, I shouldn't have bought the first standard slipcover Matrix either. Gotta sell that one now.

This is the best deal I've ever gotten on 4K UHD steelbooks. Best $60.70 I have ever spent. BB wins again.
