The technology changes throughout the years can be a good reason. If SF pulled out all the stops with their budget and actually got a brand new 4K UHD scan of the film that would already change things up as scanners have improved over the last 10 years for color preservation.

Then you have the color mastering software which has improved and provides a lot more range and options to deal with issues. I would also guess the color grading monitors have made a huge leap in performance from 2012-2013.

I don't think SF will be going all out with this release but if they do I have no doubt that Mr. Cundey will do a great job. No matter what we are still going to have a percentage of hardcore fans complain about the color timing for this release.

It’d be great to give him the benefit of that doubt but Shout’s Thing and Arrow’s Thing are very different beasts despite being released just a year apart. One came off an IP while the other the OG negative, yeah, one was approved by just Cundey while the other had Cundey and Carpenter involved, yeah, but it’s still kinda ridiculous. If we were talking about a ten year gap then fine, but a year? Come on man.

Throughout the years ?? Shout ended up using the Arrow master a year after their mess of a one got laughed out of town (Apart from the fanboys and Mr Cundey)
Funny how with Carpenter there to keep a hold on him it looked like it should on the Arrow released, what a year after the Shout?
Tech doesn't move THAT fast.

I stand corrected concerning the original poster being used on the slipcover. Going based on They Live and Prince of Darkness, I assumed that would be a given.

Their previous 4Ks had the original art, there was nothing to flip to. These will certainly be reversible.

Didn't think about that one . Hopefully they'll know they need reversible covers for the iconic Halloween posters.

I thought this cover was pretty dismal.

Then I saw the ones for "II" through "V."
