Most definitely, it’s a religious film, it’s an epic film, and Paramount is timing it’s release with the holiday season.

Though its focus is on an Old Testament, Wrath of God subject, this film is about as historically accurate as Ben Hur or Spartacus or Cleopatra or a myriad of sword and sandle epics out of Hollywood. I call it history... according to Cecil B. Demille.

Love the intro by him, yeah it's funny they always play it on tv Saturday night before Easter but it has nothing to do with the christian holiday. I'm not religious but my wife grew up Catholic and they always watched Greatest story ever told.

I know it's not for everyone. It's different as many of us grew up watching this during Easter. It truly is an epic film with some great performances by both Heston and Brynner. They don't make 'em like they used to!

Call it inaccurate history, Paramount’s marketing strategy here is riding on a religious- God and Easter theme in order to cash in. Paramount wants your money, this should be available in stores.

Well it is tangential. Christians definitely acknowledge Passover in the lead up to Easter even if they don’t celebrate it explicitly. The Crucifixion does take place around Passover after all.

I was really excited for this release when it was announced, but I'm going to hang onto my standard bluray and pass on this release. This doesn't have much rewatchability for me, so the 1080p version is good enough for me

You would think they would play it on Passover weekend instead of Easter since it's relevant.

Regardless grew up watching it cause I loved the movie, the bluray looks amazing so the UHD should be stellar!

But more people in this country are Christian than Jewish. Ratings.

Could you please tell me if the 4k disc contains subtitles in Spanish?

I suspect Best Buy & Target will have it in stock. Best Buy says "pickup not available" now, but they said the same for Star Wars 4k, until they had it in stock.

It’s an 8-digit SKU, which I believe means BB won’t be carrying it in stores. I could be wrong though.
