Sorry to bump the thread for no reason but what is the best version of this movie right now? Have been hearing about a 35mm print but would personally rather stick with an official release to avoid any trouble and such. Thanks, and sorry for asking this question in advance (I'm sure this thread has been bumped many times before for this, although I don't want to have to scroll back all the way).

It’s a good job LDs are in those big poly bags, saves the “enthusiasts” from having to wipe down the disc every time they bust a nut over it.

Most of mine are still sitting in the local Cash Converters stock room, 24 years later.

I'm interested in the fan recolor of the 4K, but nobody seems to be hosting it anymore. It's in standard color, not HDR. The 4K is so uneven that it can't even settle on the color of Morpheus' shirt. Three different colors in the span of a few minutes.

[Show spoiler]

Warner Brother's remasters are usually much better in terms of color, which makes it all so much more disappointing. Thanks, Pope.

Lame jokes are lame.

Abdrewes is absolutely right. That LD is the best home video release of The Matrix, by far. And I’m not some SD nutter as I like a chit ton of UHD’s. But I’m also not a delusional 4K fanboy. HD means absolutely nothing to me if the movie has been altered. And The Matrix has been severely altered. So we know it belongs in that litter box.

the matrix is a shameless warner bros, garbage trash. picture/colour is of such poor low grade, Wachowskis and warner bros, product really does belong in the cat litter.

picture/colour is dreadful to even look at this screen capture of how it appears on the 4k monitor. The train headlights are washed out with over exposed, due to some idiot boosting the colours skyHigh and ends up looking like it belongs in cat litter.
The atmos upmix is shameless dolby labs, with their marketing BS and re-recording remixes doing these rubbish upmixes.

I'll play ether the Laserdisc or first DVD pressing. Not the rubbish hd-dvd or bluray editions or uhd. This hd/uhd market is really a scam and suckers like myself and many other Gullible 4k fanboys would be buying this rubbish by the truck load each week because you. all believe its real, wow, wow 4k. I think your 4k eyes are bigger than your bellies.

Bit of a waste to throw Blu-Rays you don't like into cat litter. Just sell it off, you'll make some of the money you spent on it back.

Is there any reason WB decided to dial up the green for the scenes in the Matrix? I remember seeing The Matrix for the first time and later being blown away when I was told the scenes in the matrix are tinted green whilst the scenes in the real world are tinted blue. There is absolutely no way I would have missed that on first viewing if the scenes in the Matrix were as green as they are now on DVD, HD and 4K.

To make it visually match the sequels better I assume

If you have to ask about the Matrix you don't even realize you're living in one.

Have you ever put a LaserDisc in your kitty litter tray? From my perspective, it looks like it could be a bit of a tight fit. It must be a real dilemma if you pick up a disc that you really don't like. What about oversized box sets? So many questions...
