Has it been confirmed if these five releases will have hdr or dolby vision?
I know it may be a stupid question but most 4k release announcements tout one or the other, if not both in their press release/features list. Haven't heard anything in the posts from Shout about them though |

And that's the problem. Any time things like titles are re-built, we have to trust that they won't mess it up somehow, and they often do. Plus at the point it's a recreation, not the original titles.

Paramount just announced Star Trek 1-4 on UHD in a box. Nice art too, but it's a box with only the first 4 films, as 2-4 sort of make a trilogy. So sometimes studios do release partial box sets.

Original aspect ratio? Got it. Original sound mix? Yeah. Original color timing? Well...that's a whole other rant I'll spare you, but let's say it's at least in the right ballpark in a good restoration. That's all in the name of accuracy...so why futz with the opticals? I don't like what Paramount has done with removing matte lines and re-doing composites in the new Indiana Jones UHDs. Artists at ILM worked long hours creating the originals with the technology of the time; the flaws aren't "mistakes" to be corrected, they're a part of the history. |

I’m definitely waiting to order this until after I find out for certain what all was done. Maybe the 2007 and 2014 BDs will end up being my “definitive” releases. |

Sometimes you get really bad PQ with the original titles. I am totally cool with redone titles if it means better underlying PQ, under the condition that the font and sizing is IDENTICAL. No “close”.

I’m guessing the blu-ray’s will be region locked, right?

Disc 3 won’t be the same disc that’s been released before because it includes the extended TV cut of Halloween, which was only available on Disc 15 of the box set. I’m guessing that the original color timing presentation is the transfer that was on the 2007 BD, but it sounds like the audio may be a DTS-HDMA 5.1 track instead of the PCM track that was on the 2007 BD. The press release didn’t mention any other audio options for disc 3.

"Halloween" and "Halloween II" are already "back-ordered" at Diabolik DVD. Will they be back in stock for their release in September?
