Since it's the same master and have different colors beside being HDR>SDR since both is converted and watched on same monitor I find it very interesting they look this way.

This is HDR10 vs HDR10, you can't cap DV in this way. It is interesting that there are these colour differences (and they are not "very subtle"), assuming that all things are equal in terms of the SDR conversion settings. If that is the case then, to be perfectly honest, I MUCH prefer the livelier colour of the Fox UHD. I really didn't like the US UHD (https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...7#post15095187) so I think I'll pick this Fox edition up after all.

I think I prefer Paramounts more natural (to my eyes) than that horrible red cape and boosted flames on Fox. Will be watching the DV soon I think.

Ooo. That looks like it's definitely worth picking up. Both you and I weren't crazy about the colder look of the Paramount release. The Fox disc looks like it's warmed things up quite nicely.

And what of the subs? Are they going to be player-generated for Europe? That is the question...

That is the question, I'm not sure it would put me off the UK disc but it'd be nice to know. The UK disc has two English subtitle streams, but then so does the Par disc.

When the Fox one ends up in a two for £30 (or a similarly good offer on one of the Euro Amazon sites) I'll have it.

It probably looks fine in HDR, but at the moment it's like something I'd expect to see if I was f***ing around with Wide or Extended colour modes, with Dynamic Contrast turned on.

Which is fair enough, but going from the lovely colour on the excellent remastered BD (which was apparently cinematographer approved according to the back of the Fox Blu) to the almost monochromatic look on the Par UHD was quite a shock to me and I just couldn't settle into it as a result. The Fox UHD doesn't look like a riotous cavalcade of colour in itself, it just seems that way next to the overtly dour Par disc.

I think I've seen it in there before but when you've already got 300-odd UHD movies it's kinda hard to find something to go with it. Will have another look though, ta!

BDinfos and comparisons linked in post #501 confirm that Fox disc is also BD100. About 94GB of data on this disc. First I would have said that this international Fox version is same as UK but then I remembered the infamous cut scene - the throat slit of English lord. Is it still cut in UK to achieve certain rating or did previous BD already omit that cut? If this cut was omitted then I'm pretty sure UK=Japan=Europe=Rest of the world excluding NA.

F*** any differences in color of the (SDR converted) caps.

What I do care about with Braveheart are proper burnt-in titles. And as was to be expected the Fox doesn't have those. The war paint glitch appears to be the same as well (and I'm actually kind of glad it is, since it would've slightly bugged me otherwise now).

Eh, I'll take my preferred colour scheme over burnt-in subs, as much as it pains me to do so.

I even prefer the colors of the Paramount - so win win for me I guess then.

I actually thought this is a great looking disc. Looking forward to revisiting later this month.

It's a dour movie.

Fox disc colors look boosted and unnatural. Fleshtones look red in some shots with some odd artifacts. Also looks a bit sharpened.
