Be careful.

I just checked and Amazon listed my preorder from January as arriving "April 1 - 21."
They listed new preorders as "Arrives Mar. 30."

Their customer service people said the only answer was to cancel to earlier one and place a new order.

I asked why and they said "It happens."

My order for 10C & TGSOE both say same on Amazon. I called a few days ago and they told me Not to worry. I will be getting both movies on April 1.

I hate it when that happens. And you better believe customer service this time, cause it does happen.

Since my customer service agent was adamant I had to cancel and reorder, that's what I did.

This is going to be a real treat next week! This is the type of film that studios really invest resources into producing as great an product as possible. Price is too good to pass up too. IIRC the Blu-ray release was significantly more when it first hit stores.

Picked this up today. Put it on 'for 5 minutes' and only realised the time 40 minutes later. It looks glorious so far. So looking forward to watching the rest of it.

Paramount should have split the movie onto two discs, like on standard Blu-ray.

Almost 4 hours + Dolby Vision FEL is too much for a single disc

Picked up the local edition (Australia) today, spectacular detail and clarity, especially on the set pieces, grain is there. The effects shots with the rear projection are what they are, black outline and all. The Dolby Vision-amazing

Cause we are supposed to listen to people who haven’t seen the disc yet and not those who actually have.

What are you talking about, everyone who has the disc says it's fantastic. The review here has nothing but praise too.

The effects shots are opticals, not rear screen. Hence the matte lines.

I don't trust Paramount at all, that's why..... I will judge it myself...

Still math is math, the HDR10 layer could suffer with a low bitrate...

I would rather have the entire movie on one disc, as long as it doesn't degrade the video quality, but in case of The Ten Commandments its not an issue.

Still, time hasn't been kind to either copy, especially during the years when Elizabeth Taylor (as Mike Todd's widow) personally owned the film before selling it to WB for home video in the 1980's. (Ironically Liz was the top-billed star of Giant, one of the films it beat for Best Picture along with The Ten Commandments.)
Yes, and though I loved the spectacle of "Around the World" and called it the "best" picture I had ever seen (at 13!), I knew "Ten Commandments" was great (until I realized it was funnier than great) and I certainly knew that "Giant" should have been voted that year's Best Pic Oscar. That one I saw 4 times in that year alone! And I might watch it again this coming weekend.

Also, would the bittrate really be better, and by better, I mean in a discernible way to the human eye?
