Honestly... I love all the Halloween films. Do I know some are bad? Yes, but I still love them for some reason. lol. The only one I'm still trying to actually enjoy though is Zombie's Halloween 2. I saw it once in theaters and a couple more times on TV (in pieces) during AMC's Fear Fest.

You get the posters from shout and probably receive them a week before street date

I’d buy all except H20 and Resurrection, but I’d maybe wait for a significant price drop on those two just to complete the collection. Those two are seriously ugly films and wouldn’t look great in 4K anyway.

Wait for heavy discount then miss out on a quality slipcover?

A: 10 UHDs all at once "would just be impossible" and "so we had to split it up someway." Remarks that 1,4, and 5 are "new to Shout Factory" and that they were licensed from Trancas International, and that 2 and 3 have existed with Scream Factory since the start of the imprint.

Might just be keeping the door open for Paramount, but the "split it up" wording makes it feel like they expect to get those films.

As was I. The Second Sight release is phenomenal, but it'd be nice to have a release of the film for the Region A market.

Rob Zombie is a huge cinemaphile. (I remember photos of his home theatre where he had 1000s of movies lining the shelves.) I can't imagine he wouldn't want his films presented in the highest quality possible. RZH2 was filmed on 16mm so it may not upgrade to 4K the best, but 16mm films still fine on 4K if they're handled well.

Assuming Ends is still coming out in 2022, Universal will put it out themselves early 2023, so September 2024 if we're being optimistic.

RZH2 is my second favourite of the entire franchise, so I will gladly buy it in 4K.

It also ships early and comes with an exclusive poster if you order from them.

I assume you've only seen the theatrical cut, then. If you get around to it, I highly recommend checking out the director's cut instead. It's a far superior version of the film, and - in my opinion - is probably the director's cut that makes the most substantial changes to any film.

So I imagine with the slipbox.. H1...and...H2... will be the size of the ..CREEPSHOW .. set?

H1..and..H2.. are 3 discs so Scream is going to have to use a thicker case.

The 3-disc Viva Elite 4K UHD cases that Scream uses are the same width (12.5mm) as 1 and 2-disc Viva Elite 4K UHD cases.

Creepshow had a booklet, so maybe a little thinner.

It would have been nice if these releases had a booklet each too! Like Creepshow.

They could break up the book from the 15 disc set.

That would be great. Even if they only had the booklet in some of the releases, not all of them. Plus show various international posters!

Just realizing now that that quote mentioning 10 films implies Zombie’s two are likely coming, which is way more exciting for me than the rest of these announcements. His Halloween II is BY FAR my favorite movie in this entire franchise. I REALLY hope that quote means what I think it does.

Same!

There's plenty of new content to add for those two films, too. For starters, Danielle Harris and Scout Taylor-Compton just recorded video commentaries on their own for both entries, with Angela Trimbur and Brea Grant joining them for the second one. Cliff mentions in the video that he has a working relationship with Rob Zombie, so I'm sure he has stuff he could add to the releases. I'd love a new 'retrospective' commentary on them, too. Maybe they can finally put the workprint on in better quality than what's out there already.

Maybe they can also put the making of documentary out.

Did Cliff give any hint in that new YouTube interview as to what on earth his team was thinking with that new artwork?

I'm so excited for these releases but I am curious to see what the reaction is going to be when it's released.

Even if they finally succeed with a proper color grade, you know there's still going to be that group of people who claim there is something wrong with the transfer. It's like a battle you can never win haha

He basically said they were pleased with it, but he didn't acknowledge the backlash out right. He more just said that art is subjective, so some may like the new ones, some may not. The guys who ran the podcast were really pleased with it, so there wasn't much conversation struck about being displeased with this particular artwork.

He also mentioned that a lot of people accuse them of using the "floating head" style of artwork, but he said that if you have a movie with a good cast, you want them right out in open. He discussed other's disapproving of artwork usage too, saying that Stallone never signed off on artwork for Cobra so they went with the OG poster.
