Arrow still could've picked a better movie to release in 4K.

If I was a company like Arrow and say for eg. a standard release would normally be £25, I'd knock the price down to £24 and sell the slipcover separately on the website for £2.

They'd get to print less, saving them money and allowing them to be a little more "eco". They'd make a little extra on those who decide to add the slipcover while those who like slips get them and those who don't or are indifferent get to save a little and forgo it.

And in situations like this when there's an issue with the printing, they can correct it and make them available to those who want it a little down the line.

They could even offer further variations or special slipcovers for collector's.

A little more income for them and their projects, a little less packaging wasted, a tiny premium for those who want something extra and a tiny saving for those who don't care.

A slipcover variant would be nice. Hopefully they reprint the slip and offer it to buyers in some fashion.

Or they could have just put it in their standard clear case with a slipcover. Or better yet, just release one combo edition with UHD and BD.

Unfortunately i think some term dictates they have to put it in the 4K amaray. That jolly good heavy emphasis on resolution marketing that's completely othered UHD Blu-ray from HD, split the enthusiast community. It's a Blu-ray, like 3D and HD, all part of the same media family, variants.

Most of them seem entirely content to crowd around a 6.5" phone propped up on a coffee table, or worse, a laptop with a poor-quality LED panel with garbage viewing angles to watch a 480i camrip bootleg.
What is your problem... you have no clue about "new generation" I still see plenty of people of all ages with CRT tvs, 720 rear projection, first gen plasma, lcd and UHD tvs. Do you know how many vhs players are still in use?

We get it. Your grumpy this release is not as you intended but don't start spouting off unreal facts as if you are and 8 ball.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be a D but I hate it when people mask assumptions about a generation they are not part of. Unnecessary bias

I have both An American Werewolf and Robocop, and they came with book and poster inside a kind of "slipcover box", they didn't came with a slipcover as usual Blurays, but all sites listed it as a "slipcover" so that is why i'm wondering what will be this case if it's not the box like american werewolf.

This title is $50 RRP and currently down to $20, $8 cheaper than the BLU RAY.

Do people REALLY think this is going to drop to $10 in the future? I couldn’t even believe when it dropped to $20 in the first place. This isn’t a major studio title, this is a boutique. You’re not going to see Blue Underground, Synapse or Vinegar Syndrome 4K’s drop to even $20, let alone as low as $10.

I've just been charged for this from Zavvi and told it will despatch soon.
So looks as if UK release hasn't been pushed back.

Of course I pre-ordered at a higher price than Amazon to guarantee it wouldn’t get destroyed. It’s sort of a bait and switch to drop it now, especially knowing their customers. They really should offer some sort of discount, maybe not $10, for those who pre-ordered.

This release was supposed to come with a regular slipcover.

Arrow's "slipbox" releases are a different animal, but this was never meant to be one of those. Their Flash Gordon Limited Edition is going to be one, though.

Dude, I'm 35. I'm talking about people my age and down into their mid 20s. People with whom I have plenty of experience.

Most of my friends and coworkers of similar age have a collection of maybe 10-25 DVDs that they've had for ages, perhaps a few blu-rays. And that's it. Many don't even have a blu-ray player, and have never had one. Most aren't even aware that there's an entirely separate type of blu-ray disc designed for 4K content.

Sure, most own 4KTVs. I don't know a single one of them who've ever watched 4K content on it other than via a Netflix or Prime stream. And it certainly wasn't intentional on their part.

Sorry for the brash reply, I'm 35 as well and I work with a bunch of people who are older them me. All day long its this generation bias in my face and them acting like millennials are prices on crop all while I'm right there in front of them.

I get what your saying with streaming. I just wanted to point out that all ages have non techy people that don't care about picture quality.

ok. I have never bought an arrow release with booklet inside the normal bluray/4k case without a slipbox. So that is why i wondered how it will be released.

I'm in my 20's and I probably have one of the largest UHD collections in the world. We exist, even though there aren't many of us!

We buyers of 'high end' media are very much in the minority no matter the age group but it doesn't mean that TM2 isn't right about the young 'uns. I've literally just turned 40 and I work with a bunch of kids (20-somethings or lower, so they're kids to me ) who do not have a clue that there is a 4K disc format. Not a clue. Even the mention of regular Blu-ray is met with a blank stare. They might still have a few DVDs kicking around but they all have Netflix and some even have 4K TVs, to address Gloria's point, but that's because if you want to buy a new TV in 2020 then it's pretty much going to be a 4K by default, so that doesn't mean it's a gateway drug to actually buying 4K players and discs.

Some people insist that the next gen consoles will bridge that gap and it may well lead to a few extra people dabbling in the dark arts of disc, but the point is that buying video or music content to own to it is like a foreign concept to an entire generation weaned on YouTube, Spotify and now Netflix. Or not even official sources, I've told the story before about how I came home one Christmas to find my sister streaming Christmas Vacation from her phone to the TV from one of those rubbish pirate websites, the quality was abysmal but everyone was loving it. Meanwhile, the remastered steelbook BD was gathering dust on a shelf.

Yousa point is well seen.

The average person just isn't a videophile (or audiophile for that matter), as in they aren't overly concerned with the quality of the media they consume. Nor do they have collecting urges. Convenience takes precedence. That can look a bit different depending on what age group they're part of. For the average younger person, it's pretty much downloads and streaming all the way.

I'm turning 32 in a couple weeks, putting me right in the middle of Generation Y aka the millennial millenniums. Certainly, most people in my age range I've talked to about this stuff think physical media isn't worth the bother anymore. Generation Z is probably even more adjusted to this new digital world on the whole.

Of course there are exceptions though, like many of us posting here on this forum. And it warms my heart when - here and elsewhere, such as Reddit - I see teens as young as 13 and 14 getting into collecting BDs, CDs, etc.

I'm part of that new generation and I'm buying it despite having never watched it before.

A movie with such a large following is unsurprisingly going to do well. You know the internet makes it easy to find great films from older generations, otherwise going by that logic Metropolis release by Eureka would've bombed.
