Yes, in the most major way for this film: the original audio.

Nah, it was the best presentation of the film yet. The SF only really needs to have the original mono to improve. And if it really was from an Interpositive like Shout is claiming, a new scan from the negative should be a massive improvement.

Did the majority change their mind? It looks just like the Halloween boxed set edition but with more detail, but lacking the mono. So video was improved on something most were ecstatic about.

$50 each when they’re listed at around $30 each as of today? $100 is one heck of a shipping charge from Amazon US.

The mono track is an absolute MUST on this title for me.

Curious if Target will have an upcoming Buy 2 Get 1 Free promotion, sometimes pre-orders work during that time too.

Its taken me 4 years and i'm still watching Dark Shadows, I think i'm on Season 21 Ep 10/episode 1031 starting from ep 1. Amazon dropped the show recently so I had to switch over to tubi to continue. I don't buy DVD anymore but i'm seriously considering buying the complete series on DVD.

“Original mono” is also listed as an audio option for all of the versions on SF’s actual web site despite not being noted in the news story here.

I'm not sure why people have such a hard time understanding conversion rates and import fees, but okay dude

the current price to order these from amazon US is $220 Canadian, so a measly $44 a disc

Oh, I’m aware. I’m just saying that that was one of the few things that the Lionsgate disc really got wrong.

Definitely wasn’t factoring in import fees. No need for the sarcasm or eye rolling. Just seemed like a hefty premium over what they were listed at is all. I’d say you could get someone stateside to just send them to you, but you’d still have the import markup I suppose.

I already pre-ordered the first four films. Hopefully to see similar release on 4K the following titles: The Omen (1976), Lifeforce (1985), My Bloody Valentine (1981), Humanoids From the Deep (1980), Forbidden World (1982), Piranha (1978), Streets of Fire (1984), Firestarter (1984), Darkman (1990), Species (1995).

I just ordered from Unobstructed View in Toronto. Was tired of waiting for Amazon or Best Buy. $203.08 CDN shipped.

Also not sure why people are offloading theirs, for starters the rest of the movies haven't been announced for 4k release so you're literally giving up owning half of the series and all the special features

And on the subject of special features, there's no guarantee everything on the boxset release discs will transfer over to these new releases or any future releases. Me personally would only consider selling it when I know that I have a duplicate set of movies that are equal to or greater than in terms of quality and features... Even then I'll likely just keep it lol
Speaking as someone whom has already done some Frankensteining with my box set, it’s moreso a combination of saving shelf space, and at the same time, just a fun little project for me to make the “ultimate” release. The set isn’t something I was planning on selling in the first place, so it’s really not a big deal for me to switch out discs for “improved” versions (like I did for Halloween 2 and 3), or switch out cases for multi-disc cases to add new discs (like the Lionsgate UHD or the theatrical cuts for Rob Zombie’s version).

That just means if anyone wants to put these cases in their box set, they’ll have to lose the slip cases. I personally don’t have an issue with the art, but based on the reception, I don’t think that’ll be an issue for some people.

Lionsgate had distribution rights to Halloween 1, 4 and 5 due to their acquisition of Stars/Anchor Bay (whom licensed them directly from Trancas/Compass International. Cliff confirmed that they licensed the films directly from Trancas, and listings for a regular DVD release of Halloween from Scream Factory have shown up on Amazon since then, suggesting that Lionsgate’s rights have expired and that SF is the new distributor for the films.

Go to Sacred Bones’ web site. They’re selling the combo set without the poster (albeit with a different colored vinyl than you would get from SF’s site). They aren’t selling 4 or 5 though, since those aren’t coming with 7”s.

Or, you could always buy from SF and then just sell the posters later.
