Has anybody else been charged for this or despatched by Zavvi?
I tried to cancel but Zavvi won't because it's ready for despatch but release date isn't until 17/8.

Arrow's "slipbox" releases are a different animal, but this was never meant to be one of those. Their Flash Gordon Limited Edition is going to be one, though.



Dude, I'm 35. I'm talking about people my age and down into their mid 20s. People with whom I have plenty of experience.

Most of my friends and coworkers of similar age have a collection of maybe 10-25 DVDs that they've had for ages, perhaps a few blu-rays. And that's it. Many don't even have a blu-ray player, and have never had one. Most aren't even aware that there's an entirely separate type of blu-ray disc designed for 4K content.

Sure, most own 4KTVs. I don't know a single one of them who've ever watched 4K content on it other than via a Netflix or Prime stream. And it certainly wasn't intentional on their part.

What you say is accurate. What's super funny to me is all these people that own 10-25 DVDs like you mentioned will start watching digital streams and that's a massive PQ upgrade to them. So it's no wonder that there is so much misconception along with little support for 4K media.

At the moment, we are judging the book by its slip cover. Once we cool off, we will switch focus to the transfer.

They were pre-pandemic, but I think the situation has changed for them now. Based on experience with the Kieślowski set, though, I'll just be happy if this one arrives by the release date...

Good point. The only time I ever bought a new release with the anticipation of watching it right away was Universal’s release of the American cut of Brazil on Blu-ray. And then my basement flooded No movie watching that week!

I apologize if it came across that way, for that was not the intention. I personally did not keep the pre-order for this and will be sticking to the 1080P version. I just thought I'd share the pic.
