No, I don't think so. This movie looks to do better at the box office than Shaft. So it will be a wider release on 4K would be my guess.

Definitely picking this up on release date. Really enjoyed the movie, and have only liked it more the more I think about ever since I saw it on 10/30. Here is my very brief review from then:

Does a really good job balancing the familiar and the new, with some legitimately unnerving sequences, and surprisingly effective reflections on our choices bringing more good or evil into this world.

8/10

Enjoyed the film quite a bit and think Flanagan did a terrific job for the most part. Didn’t care for the Kubrick recreations, however, and I’m not sure if I love all of the changes to the third act from the book(
[Show spoiler]mainly Dan dying)
. Still, a very good adaptation.

True.
[Show spoiler]And what else was he going to do at the end of the book? Just go on to celebrate his sobriety. This way he beat his demons and went onto something better.

I saw it in Dolby Atmos this afternoon. Really enjoyed it. The leads were all very, very good especially Kyliegh Curran as Abra! She was perfect. The atmos presentation was not overwhelming or demo worthy BUT provided superb atmospheric ambiance to select scenes.

I've read books (The Shining, Doctor Sleep) and seen the original in the theaters as a young punk so I felt as well versed on the material as possible, overall I strongly feel this film is a worthy addition. I will buy it day one most likely.

My local theater of course didn't have Atmos, but damn the sound mix in a few scenes was engaging every speaker, loved it.

I hope the box office doesn’t make them change their minds about a UHD... looking forward to having this on my shelf next to The Shining UHD

I loved this movie so so so so much. Doctor Sleep is one of my all time favorite King novels and the adaptation is everything and more.

Rebecca Ferguson should be considered for Best Supporting Actress...

Doctor Sleep's pacing seems downright brisk after having watched The Irishman.
