I'm currently only set up for stereo so somewhere in that chain (though admittedly, I don't know where) the multichannel source is being folded down to stereo.

This movie only covers like half of the book, the sequel is going to cover the other half of it (when they are adults).
Since the film made tons of money they're probably going to drag out the adult segment and make 2 films to maximize profits, which would be a mistake. I think people stop caring after a while.

To be fair, the book is huge, one of Stephen King's longest books over 1,000 pages.

Both the mini series and this movie left out a LOT and didn't expand on many things tehy could have.

Especially when it came to the Bowers gang, which was a disappointment in both.

For instance the movie makes you think Henry himself is the worst of the gang, that's not the case, it's actually Patrick.

He's a legit psychopath who murdered his brother and is straight up on his way to becoming a serial killer, even other members of the Bower's gang are scared of him but both the movie/mini-series never go into any depth of the Bowers gang outside of Henry.

Then there's the whole other-wordly things that expand more on Pennywise and where he came from, etc, which the next movie is said to be including some of.

Default Looking forward to picking this up this Tuesday.

My wife can't stand clowns, so I'll be taking advantage of watching it on my own while she goes to a meeting that evening .

Why do people still act like that in 2018? I've always thought that many people just say they're afraid of or don't like clowns just to be like everyone else.

Since I ordered 3 ( 2 was cancelled still shipped and charged). The first steelbook Best Buy had will be here Monday, not the one I wanted BTW. The regular 4K will be here Tuesday and the 4K steelbook still has no update on it.. Even though they all shipped out on the same day. Can we get a poll on which version most people will likely get?

This is to be expected for IT, and all film adaptation (especially Stephen King) because, it's impossible for a filmmaker to depict every event and detail that's written in the book.

Are you blind-buying it? thats scary - the film wont appeal to everyone. I saw it at the theater and thought it was OK at best, But, I do believe a film like this deserves a second viewing and thats what Im going to do.

Good luck though.

Yea, BB upcharges for steelies, where have you been? It doesnt help that WB upcharges as well. That's why I don't buy WB movies week of release anymore. Also, be careful blind-buying this as I thought it was mightily boring.

Either way, you wouldn't be getting uncompressed DTS-HD or Dolby HD since it's going through optical.

I know I could read the book and look online, but the movie's ending
[Show spoiler]made it out like Pennywise was a 'killer klown' from outer space - that ending with all the floating kids seemed very "sci-fi"

oh and on a technical note: the Atmos mix was one of the best of the year.

$34.99 for the steelbook? blah, no thanks. The movie wasn't good enough to warrant that kind of day1 price. I'll wait until the summer and buy this for $10 on sale with the slipcover. You overplayed your hand Warner Brothers. I usually buy most steelbooks too.

Warners steelbooks being on sale in the first week isn't totally unheard of. I believe Kong was $32.99 on release and that one came with 3D.

Lol it’s going to sell out regardless if you don’t buy it.

Can’t wait until Tuesday.
