Maybe Carpenter put the wrong age on purpose. Michael can instantly switch from a 21-year-old to a 23-year-old because of evil supernatural powers.

I wish they would clear up what Laurie says at the end. It's impossible to understand her. The only reason I know what she says is because others have spelled it out.

Her friend Annie I swear to god sounds like Major Kusinagi from GiTS anime 1995 at the end of the clip to my ears. I can't unhear it. I don't know how that was miked right there, but it doesn't seem traditional or standard it reminds me of Kusanagi talking to her ghost inside her shell...distance seems off or some echo delay funkiness...or was this Halloween '78 re-recorded/dubbed or something?

When I first watched Halloween many years ago I thought it was a mistake that Michael had the mask in the early morning. I thought he would’ve obtained it shortly before the alarm in the hardware store went off. I still don’t really understand that. Did Michael break into the hardware store before it opened and the alarm wasn’t turned off until about twelve hours later? Or did the store owner turn the alarm on when he discovered some items were missing hours later? I guess it must be the first scenario because why would he manually turn on a deafening alarm that accomplishes nothing?

I always thought she said "Was it the boogeyman?" which makes Loomis' reply make total sense. It wasn't until years later that I read it was actually "It was the boogeyman," and now that makes his reply awkward to me. In my headcanon it's still "Was it" not "It was."

Seeing this talk about changes, honestly they need to bury the hatchet and completely remake the film. It's almost 60 years old and nostalgia is holding everyone back from seeing how truly bad (not to mention problematic) it is. The new titles do nothing to rectalfy any of Halloween's issues. Maybe one day when the chud fanbase cools off something can be done to truly bring this film into the present.

They should scrap Loomis entirely. Just have Laurie screaming, 'Back off, Patriarchy!' and performing a roundhouse kick which sends Michael flying out the window at the end.
