I did a little sampling and...kinda didn't love what I saw? I realize it was shot digitally, but it exhibited the sort of sickly appearance bad shot-on-film transfers often have - soft, waxy, and artificially sharpened. Granted, these symptoms appear very mild, and I'm sure I'm in the minority on this, but the look of this was not doing it for me. When I saw it in Dolby Cinema, I seem to recall there being a little digital noise visible, which makes me wonder if they did try to scrub some of that away? I dunno. Maybe I'm imagining things. I need to watch the whole movie to get a firmer grasp on this transfer.

Based on my observation, you seem to have issues with quite a few UHD titles, and you seem to be the only one more often than not. Could you have some defective equipment in your set up? or incorrect settings?

Nah, this isn't that. The only "issue" I have had is certain discs (mostly Lionsgate) looking abnormally dark and washed out (Patriots Day, Deepwater Horizon, Valerian). It's possible there may be a problem (not a settings problem) somewhere along the line causing that. However, this disc doesn't exhibit any such issues. It's the transfer itself I'm talking about.

I don't own 4K equipment yet, but I'm glad I future-proofed by getting the 4K steelbook. The 1080 version looks and sounds great! I'm a little jealous with you guys that can pull off both 4K and Atmos. The DTS Master 5.1 track is basically a damn fine reference mix with tons of surround activity. No matter which disc you buy, it's money very well spent! Too bad there's no disc artwork unlike Dunkirk.

You really hear the difference between DTS MA and Atmos/DTS: X. Don't get me wrong DTS MA sound is awesome but Atmos/X really brings the sound to another level. It's more open but it ALL depends on your system and how you tune it.

Right now I'm re-watching all my Blu's that have Atmos/X and let me tell you, it's a BIG difference Bass is hitting harder and surrounds & back channels really kick in to high gear.

I have like 30 movies I have to re-hear Once you hear the new sound you won't wanna go back to anything else. This is why me and some other people are upset that Nolan went with DTS MA for his boxset. His movies scream Atmos/X sound..

$35 is the going rate for all 4k steelbooks this year. we pay £30 in the UK ($40) for 4k steelbooks so its only fair you guys pay high prices as well

So, are most going to buy the 4K Steel book, or wait for the possibility of a director's cut/unrated version, or even the release of one long version containing parts one & 2? Though I'll probably buy the 4K steel book on Tuesday, I'll be upset, as most buyers will, to learn 6 months or 1 years from now that director's cut will be release.

I think I’ll go with the regular 4k (either hopefully a cheap one on ebay or wait for a price drop). That nearly $40 price tag for a movie which I’m not so sure I will enjoy, on top of the so-so steelbook is just too high for me personally.

I'm gonna wait it out on this one and hope for a price drop, or for this to become part of Amazon's 3 for $50 deal.

I forgot I pre-ordered it on Amazon until it shipped this morning. Oh well, I'll use my Best Buy savings codes on something else.

I did the same thing except with Best Buy. I received a shipping notice from BB and I was confused about what it was. After checking I was like "Ok, I guess I'm keeping it."

I'm opting for the standard 4K release, and for a really silly reason - I don't like that the steelbook has the Blu-ray logo on the spine and not the Ultra HD logo.

My copy should be here tomorrow from Amazon. Just saw Brass Tax review and found out there is a Director's Cut in the Pipeline. Guess this is going to be like Avatar where I have to grab a couple editions of the film.

Would they even bother doing this? At 4-5 hours long it would need 2 discs anyway.

Please tell me you watched Hacksaw Ridge in Atmos

Back on topic...my copy of It 4K is showing out for delivery. It’s a blind buy, so hopefully I enjoy it.

Just got my steelbook in the mail from best buy, first time I've ever gotten something early from them.
