Yes. Not only is it a great horror/thriller, but a great coming of age story as well. Everyone in this movie gave 110%, especially the kids. I'd say it has some of the best child acting in recent memory. Bill was great at making Pennywise his own.

Hmmm - thats just one opinion you're basing a blind-buy on? Thats fine but certainly risky. The film has issues for sure. Maybe you'll love it, maybe not. Risky. But good luck.

One thing is for sure - I aint paying $30 bucks for it. I thought it was OK at best first time I saw it. Was going to buy it if it was priced right to give it a second viewing. But not at full retail! Why isnt this $20 bucks like just about every other new release?

Warner is taking a risk here as it's their first horror title on this new premium format, and they're going to see if horror fans care about quality or not. Actually that's two-fold; this is their first horror UHD and first movie with Dolby Vision on disc.

I'm sure a lot is riding on it.

I would also recommend blind buying this. I am not into horror movies and I rarely watch them. But I always had a thing for the old IT movie and went and watch this one in theaters. Absolutely loved it! I am looking forward to going and picking up my copy today.

I'm not a horror fan either but I enjoyed this when it came out in theatres. Bought the Target Lenticular, they didn't have any 4Ks, the Target exclusive it's not a Digibook, just a regular BD, DVD + Digital with a lenti cover and 5 postcards. I will give it a spin this weekend

I would never, ever recommend blind buying a horror film or comedy film--those two genres, more than any other, are highly subjective. I've made the mistake before, based off positive word of mouth (from TROPIC THUNDER, to INSIDIOUS, to CABIN IN THE WOODS, all of which I loathed), and trust me, it just blows up in your face too often to justify the net wins.

For anyone who has the US UHD disc, can you confirm if it is a 100 GB disc or not (by looking for the three inner rings on the data side)?

Alternatively, does the UHD disc have French and German Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD MA 5.1 tracks?

IT is based on a classic King novel that remains faithful to the spirit of the source material; IT was well received critically; IT made a lot of money and has a good audience score; IT is much more than just a simple horror story; IT has so far gotten favorable impression for the UHD picture quality.

I'd say that IT is about as safe of a blind buy as you can get in the format right now.

Edit: You're also going to get a lot of people saying "IT sucked", but bear in mind that a lot of those folks went into IT expecting a horror movie. IT actually has a lot more in common with something like Stand By Me than King's other works, which is to say, IT is not a typical horror movie.

I completely disagree. I have bought many horror movies blind and have been mostly pleasantly surprised.

I bought Better Watch Out blind and i thought it was great. There are a lot more but i cant think of any of off the top of my head.

IT though, was a pretty terrible movie.

This was a blind buy for me. Now the real issue...

For my first viewing, do I:

1. Watch the UHD on my 43" TCL 5.1 bedroom set up?

or

2. Watch the Blu-Ray on my 120" 5.4.1 projection set up?

I've been waiting for more reviews regarding the use of Atmos and HDR, but haven't found many yet.

Thanks!

If you want a UV license, then you need to redeem it at WB All Access:
https://moviesallaccess.warnerbros.com/redeem

Choose WB All Access as the redeem provider after entering the code.

If redeemed there, it'll port to your connected UV providers in UHD, just make sure your WB All Access account is linked to your Ultraviolet locker. Hope it helps, I know there is a lot of information. Feel free to PM if you have any questions

can anyone reconfirm this? the only other disc that I had to go through WB All Access to get the UHD streaming version was 'Kong: Skull Island' (Best Buy combo steelbook edition) - I've never had a problem before just putting a code directly through Vudu

oh and the quote is referencing the Best Buy steelbook edition.

It's a pretty dumb question to ask anyways. Taste is subjective and how are we supposed to know what someone else will like.

The thing that I found odd is that the default audio is DTS-HD...you have to go in the menu and change it to ATMOS.

So can anyone say if the 4K disc is stacked on top of another, or did WB wisely go the other way?

Just picked up a steelbook at BB, forgot just how ominous that opening scene is, and how spectacularly Skarsgard played the role. This was one of my favorites of 2017 for sure, and I'm not that huge of a horror buff.

Anyone know when Walmart online will actually stop saying “preorder” online? Was wanting to place it with another order (other movie shipping since not out yet) and pick this up in store.
