I could be mistaken, but I believe the 2007 disc had the original mono track as well. It was just lossy compared to a lossless presentation.

Yeah, it's a shame that they were only able to use an optical track and not the mag track for the original sound mix. At least SF (largely) corrected the terrible sibilance issues from the first pressing and it's actually lossless DTS-HD MA dual mono. There's still a bit of hiss, but I'm just happy it was included and is actually listenable.

That's kind of how I feel about it. The LD has better audio, but the Scream track doesn't bother me. I would prefer the LD audio being brought over, but at least we have the original mono.
