"play it again, sam" is one of the most famous lines in casablanca. only problem is no one ever says it in the entire movie.

same for "we're gonna need a bigger boat" versus "you're gonna need a bigger boat" all these years later.

My two cents, as a someone who grew up in an American suburb - kids stopped wearing costumes for Halloween by high school. It was considered kids stuff and immature for teenagers looking to mature and be more adult. Even dressing up for Halloween in junior high school (grades 7 and 8) was pushing it.

Of course, once you do hit adulthood, you rediscover how fun dressing up for Halloween is, and you start doing it all over again.

Just my experience, though. The high school kids in the 2018 film dress up for the Halloween party, so maybe things have changed.

Well, from my experience growing up, no matter how old you were you still dressed up. Obviously the only thing that you stop when you into high school is trick or treating, but we still dressed up to go to parties. Same as an adult. But now as a father, it gives me an excuse to dress up like Myers and walk with my daughter as she collects candy. Halloween is awesome and I matter how old I get, I will always find a way to participate. Here’s hoping for grandkids.

Googled it and someone suggested it was Debra Hill and listening to some interviews with her, it might very well be so.

For those clamoring for the original mono, I'm glad that it's included here. I know it's sacrilege to them, but I'm really interested in the "new" ATMOS tracks. Is there any confirmation on how those were derived? Us there any recognition that there were missing sound elements in previous upmixes that will be rectified here?
When I introduced my son to the series, I only showed him parts 1,2 and 4 before he decided that he was not a horror fan ( I still kept him and am currently paying for his higher education in hopes of a turn around).
With my daughter, I screened the original the night before taking her to see 2018. With no hope of screening KILLS at home this October, I've decided to screen 1,2 and 4 for her with these new discs.
Unfortunately, the Eli Roth series ruined the sister reveal for her.
Anyway, I'll be screening all 3 with the new ATMOS tracks.
For the new Atmos mixes, there is no information regarding what sources they used to create them. For all we know Shout Factory could be in the same situation for H1 as they were for H4 (original multitracks and mono mixes lost) and they are stuck with what they have available. All we can do is hope for the best because SF are keeping pretty quiet with this info, unlike H4 & H5. I’m still holding out hope that the mono mix confirmation we got from SF about using the filtered 2014 Bluray source is inaccurate and they instead pulled a fresh A/D transfer from the Original 35mm Magnetic Master Tape. We have to wait for the reviews to confirm that.

never looked it up, but further with this, i'm pretty sure the three lead actresses also recorded the cheerleaders' practice that you hear when laurie and lynda are walking out of the school. "we're from haddonfield, couldn't be prouder," etc. one of them is clearly nancy loomis -- there's no mistaking that voice.

Can't wait for this to arrive. Starting to feel the fall feelz. And this is one of my Top Five favorite flicks of all time (see signature below). Even though I haven't been pre-ordering recently due to all the disappointing delays, I finally pulled the trigger on a Best Buy pre-order... which still says I'll get "on release day: Sept. 28". Weird. But I know it's fiction, so I'm not gonna get my hopes up OR sweat it.

Here's the funny thing: I cannot bring myself to add this new 4K disc to "my collection" on blu-ray.com and have that awful, awful artwork staring back at me. Just can't do it. So forevermore, the previous 4K release with its glorious original artwork will represent this disc on my blu-ray.com database. I'm thankful that earlier Lionsgate disc was 4K; it would really bug me if I had to have a prior Blu-ray release stand in for a 4K disc.

I was looking at the shout website and they have two listings for the new movies.
All 5 plus posters, records and pins
All 5 plus posters and records
Why don't they have one for just the 5 with posters and one with just the movies?

How much would the posters and records sell for?
Why is the shout website charging nearly$40 each movie when everyone else is charging$26?

I'm hoping to pick this up at my local Best Buy on release day. They have been stocking several Scream titles this year like Prince of Darkness, They Live, and King Kong.
Sometimes they even have an Arrow release. Any guess what the price will be on release day?

because sycophants will pay it if they think there's a chance they'll get it eight minutes before street date?

Not sure about the release day price but best of luck to you with best buy! I've long since given up relying on them for my new releases, my local stores didn't even carry the Indiana Jones 4k set until recently (!).

oh how I miss walking in there and having a near endless selection of titles to browse... those were the days

One of the most famous lines in all of cinema, and they've butchered it. Jaws is the perfect example of why preserving original mixes is important.

I know I come across as an extremist about all sorts of issues like this (it's because I am, lol) but I cannot believe that people are going to boycott the Shout UHD because of it. That's not a hill I wanna die on.
I'll just do what I did with the Lionsgate UHD and throw the LD mono on there. That is, if the Shout UHD is a PQ upgrade anyway.

I am a lot more excited about the H4 UHD than this one, simply because we basically already have an archival quality version of H1 with the LG UHD + LD mono.
